hmmm an extremely vulnerable Maan, his image has completely changed eventually in the FF, from a player to a broken man with so many insecurities 😭 sad it is. good one.

PART 27

*Geet's POV*

I climbed into the car in silence. Maan kept stealing glances at me but i didn't speak a word. I myself didn't know why i am so bothered about it. All i want is to Maan tell me everything and we should never have secrets. Why didn't he tell me that Anchal called him and he said okay for dinner.

"Geet" i heard Maan call and it was when i realized that the car pulled off.

I looked around and didn't find any house nearby. I looked at Maan questioningly.

"what happened Geet?" he asked

I narrowed my eyebrows at him.

" did i do something wrong? Are you mad at me?" he asked

He looked so scared asking me that my heart melted at his one look. How can anyone stay mad at him.

I cupped his face and looked into his eyes.

"stay the same ever Maan. Don't break my trust" i said

He held my hand and placed his lips on my palm. He cocooned my hand in his.

"Trust me Geet. Please" he said desperately.

I leaned forward and placed a brief kiss on his lips and smiled at him. A relief smile curved in his lips and he started the car.

Anchal's house wasn't what i expected it to be. It was huge enough to be called a mansion. I never knew they were so rich.

"I am not sure " Maan said as i asked him the same question " maybe they won some lottery "

Hand in hand with Maan i entered the house. Anchal was in the living room ready to greet us.

"Welcome " she said with a cheerful smile.

"Good evening " i said politely.

Maan just nodded. He didn't seem very excited about the visit. Why did he agree in the first place?

" Thanks for coming Geet " she said

"oh pleasure is all ours " i said faking smile.

We were sitting on the couch when anchal excused herself to go bring juice. I was looking around at pictures while Maan stood beside keeping a straight face.

"What is it with this uninterested look?" i asked Maan

He looked at me and smiled but it didn't reach his eyes. He took my hand in his.

"Just thinking about our baby" he said

I know he was lying but anyways that is good topic to cheer him.

"yeah? What were you thinking?" i asked

"Wondering how beautiful the baby would be when the mother is so beautiful " he said

"why? That is so flattering Mr.khuranna" i said laughing

Maan smiled placing a quick peck on my hand.

"look who i see after so many years" we heard a voice say.

Maan stiffened while i turned around to see a man in his late fifties. We both stood up as he began to walk towards us. The old man ignored my presence and fixed a judgemental glance on Maan.

"How are you?" he asked Maan

"good uncle" Maan said plainly.

First time since he entered the old manm looked at me, then my bump and back at me.

" I take that you are going to be a father then" he said

"this is Geet " Maan introduced me

"hello"

"hello Geet i am Deeraj Anchal's father" he said

That was unexpected and i am sure my face gave away the surprise as Mr.deeraj frowned at me.

"Good to see you sir " i managed to say.

I though anchal is alone in town. Never imagined she will have family here.

"Ah you people met already?" said Anchal walking from the kitchen with a tray of juice.

We four sat in the living room trying to move on with that awkward silence still remaining in the air.

Anchal was trying hard to make a conversation that involved all four but two men in the room were keen on pretending that the other doesn't exist. So it was just me and Anchal trying to cut the tension in air.

Throughout the conversation my hands were locked with Maan who kept caressing it with his thumb while listening to me make conversation with Anchal. I am sure Mr.Deeraj noticed this because i saw him staring at our linked hand twice.

"There he is " Anchal said getting up as a tall man in late twenties entered with a blue coat on his hand and tired expression on face.

Anchal hugged him but he didn't seem like he appreciated it. However Anchal wasn't discouraged by it.

"Maan , Geet guess what? ... This is my husband-to-be Ashok Mehta" She said smiling widely.

"Wow congratz " I said trying to find as much as happy as possible.

" Congratz" Maan said with not much interest.

Why does he feel uncomfortable here?

"Mehta as in Mehta Jewelers " Anchal's father added

I saw Maan roll his eyes. Well that wasn't very civil to add the status in unwanted place maybe he wants to tell us his to-be-son-in-law is wealthy man. Mehtas are most important diamond dealers in India and own large chain of jewelry shop all over India.

"Baby why don't you change so that we all can have dinner together" Anchal said sending him to his room.

He didn't even welcome us. How rude.

" We are now engaged for two months " Anchal said flashing her ring.

"very pretty " i said smiling

"That reminds me that i don't see any ring in your finger Geet " Mr.Deeraj said with a satisfied smirk as if he accomplished something.

"Because we believe in bonding of heart more " Maan injected.

"heart" he let out a sarcastic chuckle.

Maan's hand formed a fist , i caressed his hand to make him relax.

"Lets go have dinner" anchal said as if she is unaware of the cold war between Maan and her father.

Dinner was much awkward than i expected. At least i am thankful that it so far is free of snappy talks.

"Geet doesn't like Soya " Maan said before the servant could place the dish on my plate.

Oh i didn't see that was in the menu. What do you expect i am already greatful that Maan is taking complete care of me and i have stopped looking after me. I smiled at him sweetly. He with a grin placed the salad on my plate making me pout. Maan leaned closer to my ears.

"just few pieces and i promise baby's mommy will get a treat tomorrow in McDonalds " he whispered.

I took a bite of my cucumber with a slight blush as his thumbs were still caressing my hands. I guess he is getting obsessed with the gesture.

I could feel two pair of eyes looking at us. I wisely prefered to ignore it.

Everything was fine until Anchal began to choke after eating the dessert.

"What happened ?" her father asked.

She gestured for water and Ashok brought it immediately. She coughed a couple of times before relaxing on the couch.

"Damn this icecream has banana " she said breathing heavily.

"so?" Ashok asked.

"I am allergic to those " Anchal said throwing him accusive glances

" how am i supposed to know it " he said

That was the maximum i heard him speak. He seems a reserved person but duh you need to know if your fianc is allergic to something.

They shared displeased looks. Maan seemed least interested in whatever was happening while Mr.Deeraj all of a sudden looked tensed. This is one of those confusing Dinner nights. I just can't wait to go home and cuddle with Maan.
