I was planning to create a topic about why Jalal never asked Jodha the reason for her hatred. It bothered him to no extent, but may be conciously he hadn't realized it yet. In the beginning Jalal was attracted to Jodha's beauty. He thought of her as a precious possession that would honor his palace. When, he finds out about the ghrina she has for him, it strengthens his resolve to possess her even more. Once married to her it hits him hard that her hatred for him is real. Every talk they have, every encounter with her is filled with her venom for him. As he deals with her GHRINA, he also finds out about her many unique qualities (love for dasis/kids, sword fighting, cooking, singing, shatranj, writing, ghud savari, sharp aim) which he has never seen in any women. He has never seen a woman with so much pride for self, her land and her family. Last but not the least, he has never seen any woman not desire HIM! He sets himself to break her pride and fails after many attempts. During these attempts his attraction, curiosity and interest for Jodha only increases.

He then sees a new side of her during suicide and understands how his actions of marrying her has completely destroyed her. He also witnesses a new side of her during the Ajmer trip and tiger attack. She is eager to learn about his religion and follows his lead. After the tiger attack (they have not shown any flashbacks, bad CVs), I am pretty sure he has seen a softer side of her. He has seen her resolve to keep him alive and also care for his well being. So, when Jodha is back to her old self and questions his intention of marrying her sister - Jalal loses it. He gets extremely bitter and sarcastic after that. It does not mean though that he is not affected by her sharp tongue, he defends his hurt by making sarcastic remarks. But, nothing seems to help Jalal's restlessness as to why his dear begum hates him. In the temple finally when he gets the chance today he asks her the reason for her resolve to get his head for Devi Maa. I am glad that Jodha shares everything with Jalal, this must have healed her to a great extent. The only disappointment was that she wasn't affected even one bit about his act of bowing his head in front of devi maa. Why, even devi maa (red kum kum on his forehead) and panditji seem to believe that Jalal has salvaged himself from all sins. We accept Jodha that you do not have any such powers to observe and change your incorrect stance. She blames him for ordering his saniks to rob the temple. Jalal takes full responsibility for it and starts the investigation. I am so glad he does not make any excuses in front of Jodha, as a king has to know what all is being done by his people using his name. He request Agda sahib to be aware of every act where his name is used incorrectly. Akda sahib correctly points out that this is not possible, but Jalal insists that in mughal sultanat this has to become possible. Bravo Jalal! He finally understands reasons for Jodha's and rajputana hatred. I wonder how his equation with Jodha will change now that he knows the valid reason for hatred. Jodha though must feel much lighter as this huge word of GHRINA is out of her head.

MA's BBC reporter informs her about Jalal's temple visit. MA is shocked and worried for Jalal as she knows how the maulvis would look at this incident. Shyamala was so right in pointing this out in her review yesterday. All through yesterday's episode I enjoyed the Akdha scene because there was no Ruqu and MA. But, I also kept thinking what if MA finds out. She first rushes to Jodha and demands and explanation. Jodha here is all dignified, calm but at the same time not fearful of MA's temper. Full points to Jodha giving MA a glass of water to cool herself down. That was almost like throwing a glass of water at MA's face, only in a sweet way. MA continues to demand an answer and Jodha finally points out that Shenshah is free to do whatever he wants. He never has done anything against his will, so its best that she asks her own son. Another sweet way of kicking her out of her room was by calling her dasi to show her the way to Jalal's khema. Jodha, I wish you used some of this tactic with Jalal. With Jalal you are full on crude with your responses. Is it that - "Jo APNA hota hai uspe hi to ghussa aur prem dono aaata hai'. If that is the case, can you please increase the prem quantity Jodha?

MA first ignites Jalal by informing him the security check that was done on her. Once she is convinced that Jalal trusts her and is mad that anyone even doubted her, she asks him to cool down. She needs lot of convincing that she has not lost hold on Jalal. Deep down she knows Jalal is slipping away. Then, brings up the issue about how people could doubt his belief in his religion because of the temple visit. He explains logically that if Jodha the shehzadi can visit Ajmer then its okay for shenshah to visit a temple. He explains to her about his foresight of how this will make him rule the entire Hindustan. I don't know why he wastes his time explaining this intentions to his badi ammi, as she never gets it. Infact very few people during that time had the ability to understand his noble thinking, no wonder there was ONLY one AKBAR the great!

Precap: Jalal seems a bit lost, too much comprehending of his new gained GYAAN about Jodha ghrina kyon karti hai! So, Jodha alerts him that someone is outside their kaksh. She even hands him over the knife. Jalal does not make any sarcastic remark about her attacking him with a knife. He is a changed man who follows Jodha direction to check out who is the intruder. Some credit to Jodha here also, she seems changed as she trusts Jalal to find the intruder. A new chapter of their life has begun!

👍🏼 I have liked today's episode as well as your post.
Strangely, her ghrina never seemed out of place to me.
I am glad Jalal understands it... Jalal must have always had this ambition to rule the whole of Hindustan. I liked his Root cause analysis, why his predecessors could not achieve and how he would...
I am not sure how much hand Jodha will have in his Jalal to Akbar journey. But his journey had already begun when he decided to marry a hindu and let her follow her relegion.
A very nice post.

You are so right Minnie that he is already 'Akbar the great'! Thanks for your comments. I am so glad Ekta is not showing how only a woman can salvage a man like a typical soap. Jalal has it in him to become Akbar, he just needed someone to show him little light here and there. Jodha has done that indirectly.

Megha... I'm all for equality. And I like how ekta is taking this serial forward... The heroine is no angel and hero is not always devil on way to be refromed... they'll both move together towards becoming better... I was really not looking forward to a know it all and always correct female...
Let her be wrong and that's a beauty! Why can't women have the right to be wrong and imperfect. I dislike it when we expect all virtues from a women... Today Jodha's satires to Mahaam must have given people some clue that she is not after all so humourless as she seems in front of her pati...
Jalal was a man she hated with her whole being... upon being married to him, she felt a pull and push and that reflects in her tongue tied state... even I'd stammer if confronted by an all powerful polite man , who I know plundered my state before and is now behaving all nice, sugar ans spice...

Minnie, great points! Yes, its hypocratic to expect woman to be virtuous. Agreed that Jodha had the right to hate Jalal. But as she came to know him more I expected her to question her belives. He is not as bad as she initialy thought. I just wish she were little more open and also controlled her tongue - after all she is from the queen clan

look the whole point is tht neither jalal is fully a "jallad" nor jodha is fully a "angel". both need to understand each other. jalal is slowly taking his step forward towards understanding jodha. he feels guilty & only a gud person can feel guilty. his patience & silence is his one more step towards being akbar the gr8. jodha's "ghrina" is justified, but now its time to acknowledge jalal's gud qualities as well, which she had already started during the ajmer sharif trip. i feel she said evrything to jalal bcoz actually she doesnt hate him anymore. from inside she had started to realize his gud things, thts why she wanted him to know where he went wrong. but still she needs to come out of her prejudices. on the other hand, after coming out of BK's influence, jalal is slowly coming out of maham's influence as well. yes he still believes her, but now he had started to listen to his heart. his inner gudness is coming out & his ego is fading. this conversation had actually brought them bit more closer & will give a new dimension to their relationship.

First of all HiFi to you for the tag 'East or West Rajat is the best' - couldn't agree with you more there! Thanks for your comments and analysis Munnirony, all good points. The utterly bitter tongue of Jodha bothers me the most, I thought diplomacy would be natural for Jodha given her background. Yes, its high time she starts recognizing the amazing qualities of her husband. Yeah, Jalal is growing leaps and bound after the MC and suicide. He defies all his well wishers including MA if he is not convinced. I am pretty sure he will do that to Jodha also if not convinced. That's why we all love him and so did Hindustan, a person with amazing judgement qualities!

Very, very nice, Meghana. In fact so neat and logical and comprehensive that I am left with nothing to add, except that Jodha's rant about the burning pyres of the dead Ameri soldiers made no sense at all.

Most of the Amer army was taken prisoner by Sharifuddin, not killed. And if she is talking of the soldiers Jalal killed while he was escaping from Amer with the injured Abdul (whom I miss more than I can say!) if he had not killed them all, he could never have got away. So that part was nonsense.

And yes, it was good to be proved right on possible ramifications of the temple going incident , though Mahaam does not know about Jalal's matha tekhna. She is very politically shrewd, and on this, she is correct.
