mockery of marriage it is...but its a legal marriage
Settle downs ladies. Lock and load those hormones. 😆
On a more serious note, I always thought that adultery and infidelity were words too heavy for this entire situation. The nikaah is invalid from the religious vantage point and whatever legal paperwork has been completed is of little importance to both parties. Neither of them believes in this marriage (using that term very loosely here because it clearly isn't a marriage).
Now, I don't know which segment precisely the TM is referring to. But I think the tables have turned and it's time that I reevaluate my perspective. If Zoya considers Ayaan as her husband, as evidenced by her "shauhar" rant, then she herself has made ZoYaan a couple. Perhaps not husband and wife, but a couple nevertheless. She should not go running back to Asad's arms on moral grounds. And if she makes her new stance on this situation clear to Asad (which I don't think she will - she's a bit on the fickle side), then he should not pursue her.
As simple as that.
A more juvenile way to state this would be that Zoya, in all technicality, will essentially be cheating on Ayaan if she continues to see Asad after making the decision to stay in Siddiqui Mansion. Notice how I say "decision"? If she is forced into the marriage yet another time, it becomes another matter entirely... something to chew on some other day.
As for the "this is the 21st century" comment, exactly what was your argument there? That people cheat on each other nowadays? Because I couldn't agree more. But the common occurrence of a phenomenon doesn't negate its impropriety. Sorry.
All being said, it's a fictional show (as Rosh said). Let's learn to not make it our moral bible.
Edited to say: I didn't realize that this post is more than two weeks old. Whoops. Whatever I wrote may not be relevant anymore. Ignore me people. 😆
