However, while Jodha is a strong character, or a force of nature if you please, 😆 Or so would Jalal tell you, 😉 there is one question about her. Why does she hate Jalal? After all this, why? Still? He has been mostly reasonable to her. His anger in the MC track was based on the proof, and he apologized, thrice. But what else has Jalal done to make her hate him, or rather suspect him of ulterior motives? Hearsay? We, as viewers, see more than characters, and we understand he does have ulterior motives in things. But why does she think so as well? Her hatred for him is poorly based.

his cruelty (that was shown to her) her fiancee dying, her family humiliated brothers arrested, bhabi wanting to kill herself while she was pregnant , her whole life turned upside down, then he marrying her, humiliating her with every chance he can get and yes he did apologize to her for MC track. But if you notice, when Ruq was announced pregnant there was a mellow down in her character . She started to be ok with Jalal. And that is when the MC track happened and everything got out of hand and she went back to square one with him.

So due to her experiences with him, she does not trust him.

Marriage is all about trust and that is lacking in this relationship and that is precisely why she first doubts , reacts and then weighs out her actions. Is it correct...NO. But I would probably do the same thing. Specially if I am a princess raised with a lot of freedom and a very proud person.

Jodha is a very proud girl. She is immensely proud of her heritage, culture, religion and she does have a superiority complex going on. She does believe that she is better than Jalal because she is more humane. She believes that and thus she behaves that way.

Is she right? well no.

In her fight for equality , she does not accept the culture of Jalal nor the religion. Just recently did she do something of his culture but before that she did not attempt to.

Secondly she does think that if she gives up her heritage she will loose herself in the Harem of maniacs (minus salima begum)

So the only thing that she can solidly hold on to , to keep her sanity and individuality in this place where she is an outsider, loathed and hated by many and envied by the great ruqaiiyah herself, is by holding on to the hatred.

That hatred keeps her going. Its unconciously done but the moment she feels that she is letting go of the hatred and is forced to think Jalal to be more than an organism , she retaliates back. her talk with Hamida begum was proof that she does seee his good side but then BAM she is back to square one. As of now,s he cannot let go of that hate. Once she does ... there is nothing else left but love,..which she is terrified off. Cause she does nto trust jalal. She knows deep inside that the moment she gives in,... she is just another lady in that harem.

I believe thats pretty smart of Jodha. She is not stupid like the other woman who always try to play kissey face with Jalal. Rather she knows like Ruqaiyyah knows , that Jalal will only come to someone who is different.
