Thanks for the link Arshi.
But yet catching epi. 6 only!😳

Epi.6
A new spring:
Scent of a fresh bloom is in the air. And pollinating agents are as simple as a dog or even a friend, who is mirroring his own feelings to him😛- " Haider, You like her!"... "Well, she is pretty," off slips an 'admission'...caught, he barely escapes with a rescue call to his reliable pat! 'Sweety', 'Sweery'😆..a light banter strewn well in the script.
And Not that other part is not responding. She too is feeling his presence. But she is more circumspect. For there is a poignant precedent. Unable to overcome that spectre whose 'deceit', albeit on a misplaced ground in her reckoning, is still resonating and keeping her apprehensive. She could well see through the letters...How achingly an abortive spring might have tiptoed into their ill-starred lives, "surkh hote hue, sharmate hue, muskurate hue..."
So Haider tries to be more pro- active. Wedging 'good office' of his friendly pat. But before he gains any foothold, her apprehensions, her imagined 'guilt' throws in first bump. It causes an unnatural defiance. And an apparent ingratitude that riles him to no end.The softness transforms into a fuming dismay. He shuns and calls her bluff. "He is not exactly your father, but show some gratitude, Sara bibi."...He stands a lone resistance in entire khandaan, where all were indulging her for a long lost Princess found recently. He appears only one not affected by her 'legacy'. And Ironically thereby, he proves a guide-rail that checks her misconceptions and reconciles her more truly. Indeed, a suitor and good steward to her welfare. Might Saba have envisaged these bumps?!...Presently, the Duo struck a bad patch and started floundering even before a start. But this time, Arfeen will not miss. He would not suffer another loss- resurrection of a failed spring- as visaged and conveyed without a word by departed love of his life, his Saba. For he has immediately recognised the 'proposal' and a proposed reconciliation. He is intent on restoration of an essence- "wazud. And won't miss- Not for any allegation or threats from likes of Aqsa, nor for naivete of Sara.
He quickly activates his 'agency'. Bringing Sara back into the fold. Family. He accepts nourishment from her only. A daughter's prerogative after mother. And thereby, a demonstration to Haider, she is not insensitive as the previous night's discordance/defiance might have pitched her. He succeeds in healing a breach. As both start 'thinking' about each other once again...just as a tender bloom is attempting a timid resurgence, " sharmate hue, mushkurate hue, surkh hote huwe..." 😛

Spacial note; first effective use of 'plot/Conceit theme' BG while Sara is bringing his ironed cloth intent upon knowing the 'damage' and ensuing altercation bet'n the two. Followed by a chastised Sara and ever harmonious Saba's theme...Her vision.👏

As for "Kabhi kabhi aankho se dekha , aankho ka dhokha hota he...' Scene bet'n Arfeen, Sara and 'strat up of the plot' scenes I would await Ivy's analysis.

I doubt it smrth.

But I have watched all the episodes

It was beautiful. It kept to to the storyline

there was nothing garish or grandiose about it

a story with a message that was well told

and it was over when the story it was meant to tell was over

the characyers were well etched and the dialogues minimalistic

In short it had none of the malaises that our shows suffer from

True Arshi. There is nothing garish. But there is grandiose: grandiose of emotions and its overall presentation. That is its usp for me. Used it to detox other addiction when Kusum was thrust in BD household- seeing where they were taking story to...and keeping this open. For two sharp friends have told me to join this once they take it up. Am waiting 'commentator' and 'skeptikal'...a fine conversation possible...

I too watched all episodes Smrth... As Arshi said, it was Nothing More, Nothing Less... No unwanted moments, no thoughtless digressions, in fact a proper work of Art...
Amazing that Indian TV cannot produce anything like this. Any ideas? Are the costs there lower than here? Or is it just a lack of will? If we can have alternative cinema, why not alternative TV?

Good Happy Sister. These are questions I too would like to ask. Costs etc. Would Ivy have answered! She is better placed to know both sides. 😲

Two points I would add-

1) India obviously has talent. Why, even our serials are fine works in 'PARTS'. it's not about cost I think. It's all in tenure. Stretch it and you have everything elongated, distorted...even best conceived stories, I believe. 'Culmination' entails End. We can't go on endlessly even with best of the casts, talents and intentions. For instance, SC. What a mediocrity it has turned into now. But what it was? Take the cream of it. Say 30-40 best of the episodes or sequences- representing key points of the story. Without crap bulk..and what would we have? A startlingly well defined, well presented story. On par with any we are discussing. Albeit in different tone. Louder as in SLB's imposing style. But still it would be an 'affective' work...👏

2) MZZB is classic but not an off beat work. A mainstream- prime time Serial. It's that rare case which touched chords with both the streams. Commercially, it's one of most successful serial there.
Coming to it. It has a 'fault' of other end of extreme! Too short for it's scope- a powerful content yet to be told; Sara's reconciliation was also part of original novel I think. I don't say it should have run another full season. But it needed at least two, three more episodes covering final 'resolution' re Arfeen and Sara and thereby, to an extent, Saba...
But still, its sincere script has not left it unaddressed altogether. Clues are in all flashbacks of the last episode!😲 ...On its abrupt end, there were lots of criticism and anger, considering it was embraced by millions there...on IF we had an analysis of that last episode. And on collective notes we realised full intent. I wanted to share and reappraise all those. Some other time perhaps. 😕😊
