Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, admitted to a hospital here last week after he complained of chest pain, was discharged today. "Saif Ali Khan was discharged this afternoon and is fine now," said an official of Lilavati Hospital, where the 38-year-old was kept under observation. Saif underwent angiography test at the hospital. Saif, son of yesteryear cricketer Mansur Ali Khan and actress Sharmila Tagore, complained of chest pain just before the "Star Dust" award function was to begin on February 18. He was adjudged the best actor in a negative role at the function for his performance in "Omkara" and was rehearsing for a dance performance when he felt the pain. Saif was accompanied by his mother, actress-sister Soha and girlfriend Rosa after he was discharged. Talking to reporters outside the hospital, Saif said "everything is fine" and he would be back at work as soon as possible.
Referring to the precautions the doctors had asked him to take, he said, "My doctor just told me to stop smoking. I will be back at work as soon as possible. We were lucky. It was close." Asked if he would obey the doctor's suggestions, Saif said, "Of course." — PTI
