In our movies there can be two types of endings. It can be realistic like what would happen if it was to take place in real life.

Then the movies could have an ideal ending like what should have happened in an ideal situation.

What type of ending would u like to see in a movie, ideal or real?

My preference would be an ideal ending because the movies carry a message to the society so what they should be showing should be an ideal ending to get the message across.

Would love to know ur views on this.

I do prefer ideal ending usually, but at times I think a real ending is more fitting. By ideal I mean happy 😉 , I am haunted for days by movies that have a sad end .... So for movies that make me cry I prefer they end on a positive note.
But some movies would be meaningless with an ideal and not a real end, I can't think of one right now but I will edit my post if I remember something.

Like Sound I'll also classify 'Ideal' as happy and 'Real' as real. IMO the ending should depend on what the director is trying to achieve through the movie. If the movie is an outright entertainment film it should better have an ideal ending. However, if the subject is a bit serious one and wants the audience to learn something then it should have a real ending. To think of HAHK & DDLJ having a real ending, i.e., Madhuri marrying Manish Behl; and Amrish Puri not letting go of Kaajol's hand, is just too depressing. Similarly, Satya and Vaastav having an ideal ending would have defeated the whole cause.

I prefer realistic ending that bland well with overall story. I watch movies to get a break from my routine life and try to get some fun out of it. I don't want to watch movies to get social or moral sermons.

I think we have progressed in our thinking to accept realistic endings to realistic stories..!!!!
If the movie looses the connection in the middle then the ending does not matter and similarly a great movie can go wrong with unrealistic ending.

I hated the movie KANK and hated the ending much more and was intrigued by the movie Sixth Sense which had an even better ending..!!!!

I like both depends upon my mood. Sometime I like to see movies with realistic end that gives some message and we can connect to it.

At times I also like totally unrealistic movie, it's like a fairy tale, that's not realy, but everyone would love to read or see it 😛

I think the end should always be ideal.. remember we are going to the movies just to live a dream or take a trip to the fantasy land..as a diversion from our daily routine...

Realistic ends may not only work against that we might just come out sadder....and who pays to be sad... 😊

People mistake movie theaters for real-life classrooms and attempt to validate thier real life solutions and seek them which may work sometimes....but most cause damage

An ideal ending needn't be happy always and real needn't be sad. In my opinion to give a message one needn't have a tragic or sad ending always? Why should the message be always life is unfair? Wouldn't it be better to cheer people by giving them hope😃?

Now for my personal choice I love all good films. I don't care about the ending. I am a sensitive person and any good cinema touches me be it Govind Nihalani's Drohkaal or KJo's KANK (No comments entertained from Neets😆😆).
