Even the timid Sajjabai was better off now.
Completely agree.
Whenever someone asks Jaywantabai to stand up to US, she immediately invokes her "patni dharm". "Patni dharm" it may be, but does "patni dharm" encourage you to remain a silent and passive bystander when you know that your own son is facing danger? What was she really worried about more - Udai Singh (again) pretending that she doesn't exist, or Pratap's safety?
These days, I have a lot more respect for Sajjabai. She seems to have matured ever since Shakti left...
When Sajjabai boldly told US that he hated Pratap's rising popularity with the Mewar janta, and that is why he was banishing Pratap from the palace, did Sajjabai's "patni dharm" disappear?
When Sajjabai decided to leave the palace, and she informed US regarding her decision, US told her that he wasn't bothered at all. She, in turn, told him that it was clear he doesn't care about anybody anymore. By speaking so fearlessly to US, does it mean Sajjabai's "patni dharm" has vanished?
Also, what kind of "patni dharm" permits a wife to ensure that her husband remains completely blind to the happenings of the palace, and fails to see any reason because of her own manipulating schemes? Wonderful "patni dharm", isn't it?
Or, does Jaywantabai feel that her own "brand" of patni-dharm is the "right" one, which is why she is behaving like such a scaredy cat? Does she seriously believe that US acknowledging her existence is more important than Pratap's safety?
Why is it so difficult for Jaywantabai to realize that US is a henpecked husband in front of Dhirbai? And, yet she keeps harping about "patni dharm"...
