Above all it is a feeling! It is in the air, if you know what I mean! 9th October is panchami, the first day of the pujas, though the main days are shasti, saptami, ashtami and dashami!

People visit pandals, where the pratima/ murti is kept, by the hundreds, starting from the wee hours of the morning till very late at night! It is a never ending process! Nowadays the pandals are decorated as theme pandals! And each one is a masterpiece! Prizes are awarded for the best pandal, best pratima/murti, best lighting and so on by the govt and various private companies!

The city is alive with mikes blaring Bengali and Hindi film songs, people in their finest vibrant attires(a new dress for each day of the puja, an unwritten law!), the first romances bloom among the young, those eyelocks at the puja pandals...uff!

And the thousands of makeshift eateris lined along the pandals with tonnes of people digging into them! Chat, Aludum, puchkas(golgappas), rolls, chowmein...and what not!

(It is also the only time my unromantic hubby holds my hand in public lest i get lost in the crowd!😉)

Please, please, please all Blasters you must come to Calcutta during the Pujas and stay on till Diwali and Karvachauth with me! I love celebrating them all!

I will post pics of the pujas to lure you guys to my den!😃 What say?

wonderful observation about both nights having their own manipulators. yet on both occasions he just went reeling to his one place on earth... khushi. he had to come there.

he never did not love her. even when he hated her. and yes, while diwali was just mr asr acting nuts, this marriage, can we really absolve khushi of all responsibility? we are human, we all do things which later we may realise we needn't have or shouldn't have done. that not telling asr about shyam... that decision she took in the moment when she could have done otherwise, maybe that cam to roost on this terrible evening. everyone suffered. I agree Indi that Khushi should have told Arnav, however retrospectively speaking- she did not know Arnav had seen her with Shyam. Now Shyam had been stalking her during sangeet, she came to know who he was after Payal's engagement. I think she did not want to ruin her sister's marriage and divert the attention towards herself during the celebrations and I doubt it would have accomplished much. Now let us think in front of the Raizadas very few people came to Khushi's rescue, the only one other then Arnav being Payal. This was her wedding so of course we know Khushi would not tell anything to Payal and destroy her wedding day. She was also thinking about Anjali when she did not tell anyone because we know she had planned to tell her when she knew his truth but she did not because she could not see her devastated.

he was too shattered at too many levels to focus on anything. what i took heart from was that he held her tighter still, "mere saath mere ghar mein," and couldn't chuck her out of his life. he did no doubt think of the woman who had frolicked with his dad, who had helped form his "tum jaisi ladki" opinions. yet, he couldn't say out of my life to her. just some thoughts.
I think so too Indi he had so many things going on top of his head and as Arnav said- he had no heart but a head. He had gone to Mama's garden and in the midst he had to reminisence his broken heart and clear his head- because two people he had loved and trusted had betrayed him- Shyam and Khushi . In that situation he went straight to problems to deal and solutions.He focused to the immediate problem-his di and Akash's marriage and getting Khushi out of Shyam's life. At that very moment the only tool he could see with his broken heart and fuzzled brain was- "Khushi's obsession not to break Payal's marriage".So he came to the solution to keep Khushi in his life so that he could keep an eye on her- as it is said keep your friends close and enemies closer. We saw how he reacted each time he saw Shyam oggling Khushi also I think his tej dimaag was running much faster then ours definitely. So he did come to the solution much faster. It is the same with everyone successful Indi. I have seen in life people who are successful act before others without thinking what other people are thinking about them. I have seen that a child stands first in class because they study without letting themselves go and tend to guests and maintain social status. I am not sure if we were in ASR's situation would have done what he did but applause also because retrospectively thinking that was actually the best solution. Also I think he did a mature act even after the marriage- he did not ever confront Khushi like a meager man with her past.
