US based fashion designer-social activistSanjana Jon is in India with reigning Miss Universe 2012, 21-year-old American model,Olivia Culpo, on a 10-day tour to raise awareness about various social issues. The two will be meeting Bollywood superstar Salman Khan at his Panvel farmhouse on 2nd October in presence of select media, to raise awareness against female foeticide. During her tour, Olivia is also most likely to meet our legendary singerLata Mangeshkar and few other renowned Bollywood actors.
Sanjana spoke to us from Delhi, "Salman bhai is one of the mostamazing and powerful sources of inspiration. He has helped us spread 'Aids awareness' and various other issues in the past. He is coming back to support us this time by speaking on eradication of the evil kanya bhrun hatya (female foeticide) and propagate women empowerment. His presence makes a huge statement among the masses - transgender, transclass, people love him irrespective of the movies he does as he's genuine. In spite of being tied up with his reality show and movies, he will be meeting us on 2nd October at his Panvel farmhouse to lend his support to the cause."
About meeting Lata Mangeshkar, she added, "Olivia is a singer, her parents are musicians. My uncle is Yesudas. We are planning to get the two of them to meet Lata Mangeshkar for a musical rendezvous." Speaking of Olivia's musical connection, she is reportedly dating American pop singer Nick Jonas of the Jonas brothers. "Nick and Olivia will come down and spend time in India soon" promises Sanjana.
