Shlokh woke up panting! His head was covered with droplets of sweat. His hand lay on both sides and his chest pounding with fear. He turned around immediately and his heart pace started to slow down.

There she was. Peaceful. Childlike.

Shlokh bent down and kissed her on her forehead .

mm' said aastha frowning

sonay do Sholk. Kal subah jaldi uthna hai' she said

Shlok smiled at her

main kiss bhi nahi ker saktha?' he asked with a smirk on his face.

Aastha was sound asleep. She did not notice the yearning on his face.

" aaaiii.. main late ho gayi hun' Shouted Ridha at the top of her lungs.

Tho chilla kiyun rahi ho. Jaldi sey jhoothay pehenlo aur ye lo doodh. Yahan table per rakha hai, pleaseee finish ker dena. Main jaker thumharay papa ka dress iron kerthi hun' Said Aastha running out of Ridha's room.

Just then Shlokh appeared. He was already dressed wearing white shirt and black dress pant.

Aastha looked at him surprised.

aap baday jaldi tayyar ho gaye' she asked.

Shlokh stared at her.

Astha looked at him and gave him a quizzical look. Then her cheeks started to go red. She knew that look very well.

She looked away from him and tried to walk past him only to be pulled back.

shlokh, thumhara demag kharab ho gaya hai kya?' she asked shocked.

Ridha hai' she whispered.

Shlokh continued to glare at her. Without blinking. Without making the slightest of noise.

Shlokh .. Ridha' she said with urgency in her voice.

mama main eyes close ker lethi hun' said Ridha as she giggled.

Shlokh seemed to have come out of trance.

Aastha immediately let herself get out of Shlok's grip.

Shlokh went out of Ridha's room.

Ye kya ho gaya hai shlokh ko' thought Aastha to herself.

Aastha' came shlokh's voice after 5 min. She had finished getting Ridha for her School. It was her first day. The entire house was filled with anticipation.

Aashta while walking back her room saw Anjali aai feeding Ridha breakfast. They were laughing about something that she couldn't hear. It was probably one of Ridha's new jokes that she had heard from watching a TV show that tested people's common sense by asking different riddles.

She loved teasing her grand father as it made her special to know something that he didn't.

Ji' she said as she entered into the room.

That very moment shlokh grabbed her and started her dig his fingers into her thin waist.

"Shlokh' said astha surprised. She tried to push him away but he was much too strong for her.

He turned her around and pulled her towards him.

'Shlokh .. stop'. She struggled.

There was a craze in him that she had seen a lifetime back. All of a sudden a similar wave of fear rose in her heart.

While her thoughts were taking turns flashing the memories of Shlokh holding her tight, his grabbing her bangles, breaking them, hurting her, she let out a cry

Shlokh stop' This time hearing her voice filled with familiar fear, shlokh stopped.

Shlokh let her go and he was sweating again.

It was dark around him. He was panting profusely. He turned around and there he was sitting on the bed waiting to find Aastha besides him. He turned around to kiss her and glared at the spot for a whole minute. There was nothing but silence around him. He immediately got up and looked around. His heart was racing again.

He opened the door and the hallway was dark. Just like his room. He turned the switch on and the ugly silence took over him.

There was only one voice that boomed through it,

shlokh ye kya ker rahe ho thum. Ithni raat ko main kahan jaungi'

Please stop it shlokh. Kya hua. Mujhe batao. Please'

AAA STOOPP ITT.' Screamed Shlokh as he closed his ears.

He ran inside his room and went towards the mirror. Glared at it.

There it was again.

That ugly monster. That red eyed ugly pathetic monster who had touched his aastha and taken her away from him.

Kiyun... He screamed.

Kiyun kya thumnay aisaa' he screamed at the top of his lungs and hit the mirror with his fist

Hundereds of pieces spread out in front of him. Each reflecting that monster , who was glaring back with a smile.
