Chapter 3: Fates collided...

People say "everything that happens in our life and the people we meet in our lifetime is destined". It seems true when the paths of these crossed each other's to merge and form as one path that will take them to their destined fate, to be one.

It was destiny that Arnav who never believed in god was forced to be here at the place of worship because of his Di's call. His Di Anjali has called him to meet in the temple, really a temple could his Di couldn't think of a better place to meet him up.

He groaned internally and cursed under his breath and let out a sigh of frustration as he stepped into the temple. He was least bothered about the surroundings, the only thing in his mind was just search his Di, sort the matter for which he has been called and get to his work again.

His only interest was his Business Empire for which he has struggled so hard and due to his determination and passion for his work made AR groups a strong company what it is now.

Arnav was in his formal suit with dark shades hiding his eyes which are the chocolaty brown orbs from the world. He was walking with a faster pace, least bothered about his surroundings but when he heard the rhythmic tinkles of anklets he stopped for a while to look out from where the sound was coming.

When he gazed up the stairs a beautiful girl was racing up the stairs with red chunri in her hands and beautifully adorned in a red saree and her beautiful hair waving with light breeze as she was moving and her chiming anklets creating a spell bounding tune for ASR who stilled in anticipation so that she might turn to show her face.

He was oblivious why he stilled just with a glance of her but then his heart was leaping miles per second. For the first time, he desired something apart from his success in his work; it was just a wish that she must turn so that he can have a look at her. It was so different that he was just hoping to see her, why was he so much intrigued with her charm he dint know but then it was something he felt for the first time.

Just like he wished she stilled suddenly and slowly raised her right hand to hold her head as stumbled a little and missed a step. The chunri in her hand flew up and she came falling down when he raced towards her to hold her so that she doesn't get herself hurt.

He caught her in his embrace, his hand securely wound around her waist. The churni that flew got spread open and fell over their heads hiding them from the world. He glanced down to see her face but it was covered by her beautiful hair which is beautiful, silky and smelled like roses.

He raised his hands to remove his glares and shoved them in the pocket of his coat. Then he raised his left hand to remove her wavy silks to get the view of her. He was gently moving his calloused fingers to get the touch of her soft milky white cheeks and his gaze hovered on her pink and delicate lips that were envy of a rose. But most of all he wanted to gaze into her eyes so that he can reach her soul but they were closed.

He took the veil off his head and now it was just covering her head like a bride. He gently took her in his arms and softly laid her on the bench and got her some water and sprinkled on her face trying to get her consciousness. She frowned a little and opened her mouth a little to take some breath, he took the glass to her lips and made her drink the water. She gulped some water and then slowly opened her eyes wide.

She just realized she drank water that she was supposed to have after the aarti and that too from some stranger's hand. She smacked her hands to her head and angrily stared at the person.

But Arnav got carried away in his own daze since he saw her hazel oceans that are enclosed behind those eyelids covering their enchanting charm within them.

On the other hand Khushi was baffled, she was literally shouting on him but to her irritation this man in front of her was just staring at her being amused. She got self conscious and checked down at herself if she looked decent enough.

Do hell with this man' she cursed in her mind and started to rush her way to the temple, near her ma away from this man who was invoking strange anticipation in her heart with his piercing & intense gaze, such intensity that dark chocolate brown orbs held that gaze itself was marking his claim on her heart in his own way.

The longing that gaze held for her was just beyond explanation, it was mystifying caging her own soul yet setting it free to fly in the sky.

But she stopped midway and gasped as she felt him secure his warm hand on her milky wrist and yank her towards him and their gazes met once again, his with power and possessiveness and her with anticipation and fear. Her lip was quivering and he realized her uneasiness with him.

He let go her hand and asked with his husky tone "what is your name?" with an assuring smile to comfort her she stammered "khu...khu" just then their trance interrupted with a cheerful voice "khushiji", they both turned to see Anjali & Garima walk up to them.

KHUSHI' sounded melodious to him and his heart thudded as this name got invisibly carved on it. Anjali introduced both Khushi and her mother to Arnav and he greeted them.

"Chotte, I called you here so you can see the girl and approve the alliance that I and Nani selected with" announced Anjali smiling with excitement, Arnav was taken aback "what the hell? Not again di" he thought and started zooming out towards his car "Khushi" she completed her statement. He froze for once, does it means this very own beautiful woman can be his, to cherish, to love, to hold forever he was feeling enigmatic, his face stayed emotionless but his eyes displaying various emotions of joy coursing through his heart.

Whereas Khushi was shocked to know that this was the other reason that her mother was speaking is to set an alliance for her. She was mum to react anything for a while.

"Yes di" he replied nonchalantly, "what" said a surprise Anjali. She was shocked that her Chotte is saying yes' for a girl, god knows how many alliances got rejected by her brother but this one, just amazed her.

May be this is Love at first sight' people say about, but experiencing it through her eyes was puzzling specially when you got to see it from a person you least expect ASR' but she smiled at the thought. May be Khushi was destined for him she smiled inwardly.

She announced his approval and happily left them alone to communicate till Anjali and khushi's mother go and thank the goddess for this auspicious day.

Khushi was fiddling with her saree's pallu fearing as there was an eerie silence surrounding them when he slowly stepped towards her.

she was moving back still their eyes meeting, unable to break the eye contact she don't know when she reached the tree, she only realized when her back hit the bark of the tree.


She saw here and there for a while so that she can escape from him but she was caught between him and the tree.


No one can be seen as everyone was attending the pooja in the mandir and this man is not moving an inch and adding fuel to her miserable condition her heart was thudding erratically and her knees going weak.


"aah aah Ar...Arnavji you..you don't near me" said Khushi all nervous and fumbling.

"Why" he said huskily enjoying her troubled state and anticipation.

"woh woh" she started to stammer only to get silenced by his finger on her quivering lips, he leaned in and she closed her eyes out of fear when she felt a warm kiss on her forehead, a kiss of promise, a kiss of assurance that he will protect her and will be there for her always.

She flutter opened her eyes with a smile lingering on her lips only to see him rush towards not his car but towards the temple to thank the goddess for their union.
