Newbie Yash Gera has been finalised to play Shaurya in Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai after Ather Habib exited it.
Says Yash, "I'm excited to replace him and see it as a challenge. It doesn't matter if people compare the two of us. What really matters is my style and acting skills."
Ather quit the show because he felt there was nothing left to be explored as Shaurya, but Yash is sure that he will give the character a different dimension. "Every actor gives a different bend to his character and moulds it in his style. That's what makes him different from others," says he.
Will he adopt Ather's mannerisms while playing the part? "I'm not going to adopt his mannerisms. I am not worried about drawing criticism for playing an already established character. I will be competing with myself."
