Juhi, this PH has to be praised in many ways. I think this show is 3-4 years old and does drag at many places. They have also changed Anandi from a selfless, honest, fearless person to somewhat selfish (for this Jagya-Sanchi track), image conscious social worker after moving from Jetsar. I am not saying that they won't redeem her eventually, but for now she is coming across as the one who is using Jagya to preserve peace in her own life.
But there are three main characters whom they have kept more or less consistent - Dadisa, Jagya and Bhairav. They showed a transformation of a self-centered Jagya to a selfless doctor who is a true heir of Dadisa and Bhairav in the Singh family. They have really done well with how they showed his conflicts, his weakness, his selfishness for which he did feel remorse deep inside, his redemption and now his transformation. But what changed was his sense of decisiveness. Once he decided to follow a particular path, he did so without over analyzing much and without thinking much of consequences. Whether his decisions were wrong or right, he did follow through and suffered the consequences - good or bad.
So here he did the same thing. He was already having doubts about Sanchi, but Singhs and Anandi literally corned him to accept her. But once he found her true colors and also came to know that Anandi did not want to rock her boat, he decided to do what he wanted to do and protect Anandi too at the same time. So I really liked how they did not drag Jagya's decision, but instead showed him up taking the right path without blaming anybody else.
In any case, if he had consulted his family, Sumitra would have threw another tantrum and would have made excuses for Sanchi's behavior. Ira too would have done the same and then after marriage, would have lectured Jagya to fulfill his wife Sanchi's wishes and move to Mumbai. Ira was already showing her control when she summoned Jagya to come visit them instead of going home first.
So I liked how he withstood all the pressure from Shekars (including Anandi who was imploring him not to do so) and took his own decision. I am looking forward to Sumitra's reaction when he goes to Manglore despite her orders and then marries Ganga too. Sumitra has fallen so much that she has no compassion for Ganga who is in jail for a wrong charge. Even if Jagya was not in love, it is humanity to go and help a girl who has been denied justice. A poor guy with no means Swaminathan is standing by Ganga and here it is Jagya.
Dadisa and Bhairav are other two who have been kept consistent. Bhairav was against Jagya when Jagya was wrong. But now he is standing by Jagya and believes in him. Sumitra is so terrible that she did not even offer a glass of water to Jagya and started blasting him. Dadisa is silent so far because family comes first for her and she doesn't want divisions and fights which Sumitra is itching for at the moment. But once she knows the true color of Sanchi and that Jagya's happiness lies with Ganga, she will stand by them.
What I like about CVs in this track is how they are showing that education does not necessarily make someone open minded or liberal. Dadisa is the illiterate one and yet has become more progressive as she has evolved over time. In fact, she is much more open minded and progressive than the educated Ira.
As far as Shekars are concerned, it is hard to find any pity for them the way they were relying on someone else (Jagya and Singhs) to teach manners to Sanchi whom they have spoiled. Their approval for Jagya was not because they wanted him as son-in-law. It was because finally he was taking off this problem Sanchi from their hands and letting them live in a happy illusion that their daughter was just immature and has now matured. I lost all sympathy for even Alok when he grabbed Jagya by his collar and told him to marry Sanchi and then everything would be hunky dory. Talk about closing your eyes deliberately to a problem that is Sanchi. If Sanchi had been married to their friend's son, there would have been a divorce by now.
