Rajan shahi to produce and epi in savadhan India-TOI

Karan Mehra, Navin Saini, Pooja Joshi roped in to play important characters.

Producer Rajan Shahi, who is known for soaps like eh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Bidaai and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge is stepping out of his comfort zone (read family drama). Now, he is all set to produce an episode of Savdhaan India, which airs on Life Ok.

When we contacted him, he said, "As a production house, we want to do different genres. So Savdhaan India is our first step in crime and in episodics. The story we are working on is an interesting case of kidnapping and extortion." Dialogue writer Manu Rishi, who has written dialogues for films like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! Chance Pe Dance and Aisha, has penned the lines for this episode. The two-hour episode, which is being shot in and around Mumbai, will be telecast by the end of this month.

The episode also has an interesting line-up of actors. Karan Mehra, who played the baddie Yug in Amrit Manthan, will be playing a policeman in this one. Navin Saini, who was seen in Bidaai, will be playing a businessman, while Pooja Joshi, who plays the character of Varsha in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, will be playing his wife. This apart, senior NSD actor Ashraf Ul Haque, will be playing the villain. "The USP of this story is the way it has been written and handled. The performances and the kind of dialogues add an unique factor to it. The story also has a lot of theatre actors," added the producer.
