The Novel Durgesh Nandinii was written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.Durgesh Nandini was his first Bengali novel published in 1865.

Durgesh Nandini is Bankim Chandra Chatterjee's first Bengali Novel published in 1865. It created uproar then because it had a Bengali woman marrying a Rajput guy.

The TV show is just loosely based on the actual novel. Still they have credited the author in all the interviews and articles.

uh sory ,i mean not mr.ray but mr.chattopadhya,and it was named durgesh nandini.
