It had not been long time since I was back from college, the accident terrified me and watching his blood covered with blood my body compelled me to run away as I watched his friends taking him to the ambulance. I drove all the way with sweat covering my face, the situation had terrified me, things were just in a mess at first rits meeting with an accident and again Zain also, I could just not get the words of Uday out of my head. But I could certainly not blame him, he was not even there when both the incident took place and he looks so polite that it will be next to impossible for him to play such trick. Moreover it was him supporting the seniors just a while ago so how can he be responsible? But it can be him also, there was something that I needed to find out but the question was how?. Just a message flashed in my mobile it was from the college authority
"Inter Collegiate Cultural Fest at Jaigarh for a week"
I showed least interest as without rits it would be no fun, so the way to escape is a application in no time I faked a medical report well that is my specialty as I took it to Puja and declared
MANYATA: mummy sign it please
Puja examined the paper and said excitingly
PUJA: why do you want to skip this? You should go!
I sat beside her and said making the famous puppy face of mine that could even soften a stone
MANYATA: mummy my dear rits is sick and I will be all alone and isolated so I cannot go
PUJA: but you must have some other friend in college right
At the mention of other friend the first person to click on my mind was Uday, actually Puja was right I have to go to this trip I mean I will get chance to hang around with him and observe a little more about his nature. I mean he was more like a puzzle to me and I needed to find now that was he behind any of this...I could analyze situation rather than running away as I said with a smile plastered to my face
MANYATA: you are right mummy I am going ...
PUJA: so when is the trip bacha?
MANYATA: mummy next week
I could see a smile plastered to her face as I raced back to my room I called rits and told her, she was happy that I was taking part in this things though she regretted that she will not be able to come but I promised that I would give her all minor details of the trip. That night as I laid back to sleep I just had one wish that my assumption should be proved wrong. A part of me was scared if he was found guilty and behind this entire incident as by then I was aware of my true feeling for him, I had an infatuation towards him.
Our classes were scheduled for before the usual time. I hurried to dress up in a tee and a pair of faded jeans. The people around the campus was discussing about the event and some even about zain accident. I turned deaf to all the comments related to Zain as I proceeded towards my Uday...I mean towards my class I certainly needed mind control so that I do not be proved as a nerd and there he was sitting in his usual place with book hiding his face I knew he would look much cool without that specks and maybe if he dressed a bit indecently maybe his hair a bit spiked, but that was just expectancy. As I went and sat beside I could understand his dislike towards me, as he moved himself further, I do deserve it after my harsh behavior but I was also equally stubborn at that point I forgot about my likes towards him it was just my friend irked by my behavior as he moved a bit further we continued this chase till the time he realized that the bench came to an end as he got up and said
UDAY: the bench is all yours I am moving
But I was faster than him I got hold of his wrist as I said with one of my hand placed in my ears like a kid
MANYATA: I am sorry Uday for being harsh to you the previous day I really did not mean to hurt you it was just ...just
UDAY: That you were mad and took out the anger of me
I nodded my head innocently as he sat back with a smile and pinched my cheek saying me cutely
UDAY: you really look cute while making this puppy face of your
MANYATA: so does that mean I am forgiven
UDAY: I was never angry at you I was just enjoying teasing you
We both burst into laughter as he asked me
UDAY: so are you going for the fest
MANYATA: indeed I am going and you
UDAY: I did not want to go but then I am made the coordinator of the group dance performance and what are you taking part
MANYATA: I am not sure maybe in archery or fashion contest
UDAY: take part in archery as your arrows really hurt my heart a lot
I got the clear indication that his arrows meant my words as I smiled and said
MANYATA: no I am going for the fashion contest only
Suddenly I watched his behavior change, I could see his face turned red with anger as he warned me in an alarming tone
UDAY: do you even have any idea that what the student wear during fashion show
MANYATA: I do I was in fashion club and show stopper in several events
UDAY: but I am saying you are NOT going for any cheap fashion show
I did not know why he was angry but I just did not want to spoil the little moment of happiness we were having as I said him in a childish tone
MANYATA: fine we will discuss that later
As I faked a warm smile and could see his anger vanish in thin air our chat continued till the bell for first lecture rang through the corridors of the college.
