Jalaal just used the opportunity to cause pain for Jodha and her family... but punishing a person who supports decoits and looting and killing the innocent people is not bad at all. that's how justice prevailed in those times. If not jodho... would he just allowed Ratan & co to go on support the decoits?
Yes as you said Sukanya is saved by Jalaal in a way...He is not the right choice for her...

Agree that Ratan Singh wasnt the right choice for Sukanya and in the course of hurting Jodha Jalal helped Sukanya out

The Ameris could have been initially suspicious about Jalal's intentions & not trusted his sources & explanations for killing Ratan Singh - hence they might not have wanted to break off relations at first...

However, when the brothers saw Ratan in the battlefield and his wrong tactics, I was hoping they'd convey the same to Jodha (when the brothers-sister were having that ALL IMPORTANT conversation abt Jalal yesterday) but they didn't! So, she stays adamant about hating Jalal for killing Ratan
