Famegurukul Concert Feedback

I am writing from Singapore. Never fail to watch Famegurukul though it is very late for us (Singapore is 2.5 hours ahead of India).
I would like to express my shock and dissapointment on viewing the Famegurukul concert last Saturday.
It was very clear to me as a viewer that either the "faculty" or "Sony Channel" or whoever it was who organised the show, was shamelessly and unabashedly promoting Shamit, Arpita and Arijit who seem to be their favourites.
Rooprekha and Qazi were completely sidelined in this show. Most if the songs were sung by this trio - Shamit, Arijit and Arpita. Even the finale song of "Aasma Ke Paar" was sung mostly by this trio with the camera panning these trio mostly.
Also from the politicking in the gurukul, it is very clear that Shamit and Arpita have an unholy alliance and already consider themselves the Fame Jodi or think thet are entitled to it. However the faculty and channel fail to recognise that both Shamit and Arpita have never been consistent. Also each memeber of the trio was embarrasingly, completely "Besura" during the concert.
I would like Sony Channel and the Famegurukil team to know that please don't think that audiences are "Dumb" and take them for granted. I am very sure that I speak for the multitude when I say that Famegurukul Team / Sony Channel is very obviously promoting the trio of Shamit, Arpita and Arijit. If this conclusion is drawn by my other co-viewers than the outcome of this contest is very predictable and no longer worth viewing.
Also, do we see Qazi being given the same treatment as Ravinder Ravi of Indian Idol. Despite audience popularity and being constantly voted in by the public he was deliberately sidelined by the Indian Idol team and Sony Channel. To this day Ravinder Ravi is given stepmotherly treatment and sidelined in all Indian Idol promotions and events.
I hope Sony Channel and Famegurukul will respect the public's intelligence and wishes and play fair in running the Famegurukul contest.
I have already e-mailed this feedback in stronger language to famegurukul official id, but felt I should share this on a larger forum. I am not a regular member and this is a one time posting to express disgust and dissapointment.

the concert was very over - rated ! I found it quite boring. I do agree that Shamit and Arijit were placing too much emphasis on jumping around (performance) - Hence their singing was not up to the mark.

Yea the concert was a total waste of time. And really FG is playing favorites. It was just a cheap way to gain hype at the name of a concert. And as I was relling everyone in the forum dont judge anyone by their performance in the concert as it was a total failure and everyone was equally disgusting.

Interesting points e2raj...

First, I agree with your points on the concert. It was a rushed and lame attempt to increase ratings...things could have been better planned and more organized. Fame Gurukul is currently the top show on Sony. So its clear that the channel wants to cash in on this current hype and what better way then planning a concert with the FG contestants? They are already 'household' names. All in all, it was a disappointment.

Second, Sony is not sidelining Qazi. Actually, the opposite is true. They are using his popularity to benefit the show and their ratings. Many media articles are on Qazi and his road the fame. In a nutshell, he's not being sidelined in the media or by the channel. Why else would he the channel send him out to Lucknow to meet with fans?

Third, I agree Qazi and Roops were given less footage than other contestants. But then again, their performances were shown at the end. I'm sure there was a reason for this. Plus, I think the aim of the concert was the increase the popularity of the other contestants, the ones who haven't won the public vote yet. Maybe there's a reason why Roops and Qazi weren't as promoted during the event? FG jodi anyone? Defintely possible...maybe SET wants to prevent them from being overexposed. Nothing is worse than being overexposed, esp if you're an up and coming singer or actor.

Just my views...
