Men are generally portrayed more realistically.

Take Shiv or Jagdish, Mahi or daddu, Bhairon or Basant. I have seen such men in real life more or less.

Sanchi. No I have not seen sanchi type. i have seen arrogant girls but they are quite smart too unlike sanchi.

Anandi types. She is realistic most of the time and unrealistic to some extent. I have seen such girls too.

Ganga is an idealistic character and I have yet to see a ganga in real life. That maybe the reason that I am charmed by her.

The other women are all quite realistic and I have seen such women.

None of the men in BV are totally unrealistic.

Sanchi's mental age seems to be 10 or 11. But nowadays, even 4 year olds behave better.

I feel sorry for Jagdish that he is forced to marry such an immature girl whom he cant even love. If he loved her, he could have changed her. Like Kamalahasan and Sridevi in Sadma.

Ganga. I have seen women like her who suffer at the hands of men and in course of time they become either morose or vindictive. But ganga basically is a good person and the troubles made her vulnerable to some extent but she never lost the quality of being kind to others. Perhaps this quality must have attracted Jagdish to her.

Anandi. Where I found anandi to be highly unrealistic was when she started supporting gauri continuously on technical grounds. No woman does that.

On the otherhand I found gauri rather realistic. I find too many gauris housewives and working women.

Women create drama. That may be the reason women are portrayed in exaggerated colors. exaggerated emotions.

Yes___Gowri is realistic and... Anandi is idealistic !!She is idealistic because ...she realised that she lost Jagdish for ever ...as her husband---and still have a bonding with him as a friend or as a family member ...his; deceiving her is not the deterrent for her.. to extend a helping hand to him or being silent with Gowri !!.

characters analysis of bv(IMO)
1. anandi- some time she is very much realistic some time she is very much unrealistic. but one thing the very prominent that she is as strong as a man.she is soft from the outer side and hard from the inner side.

2. jagdeesh:-most confused character i have ever seen.have no confident on himself as well on his decisions and relations.very much realistic (only his mahanta fever is very much unrealistic to me).very week from the innerside.always need mental support from others.

3.shivraj shekher:-Very mature ,confident, truthful and practical.hard from the outside and soft from the innerside.his characteristic is very much suit to his profession . Becoz as an IAS he need t handle any situation promptly.

4. bhiron :- mature ,truthful and practical just like shiv...may be that is the reason both of them are the two strong pillar of anandi'd life.

5.dadisa:-very unique,affectionate,some time realistic sometime unrealistic .

6. sumitra and iravati- both are very much affectionate to their child.Blind in love with their own children.very much concern about their own family.

7.Daddu- most happy go lucky type character.in my life i have meet many army man like him.

8. alok and mahi:- just like daddu.

9 . sanchi :- spoiled brat...i do not want to analyse her character. becoz she is very much unrealistic .her ego and decision are totally contradictory to each other. Bv makers have just copied her character from ekta mata's vamp.
10. gouri...same as jagya only except the mahanta fever.that is the main reason they could not stay together.
11.ganga- again a mixed character.bv makers have made her without any planning.that is why not so impactful .
