Couldn't help but make a post today. In my opinion, best episode so far.
1. Great pace. I am so glad that they didn't drag the reactions/BG music etc.
2. Characters wise, we got a bigger glimpse at them.
Shlok's brother
I still haven't managed to catch his name yet. But few things about him.
1. No matter how distant he is from the family, he was angry upon seeing his father & Shlok get humiliated.
2. He is quick to take action in the way he immediately tried to ensure that news channels do not telecast what just happened.
3. He is not so calm, as he looks. His interaction with his wife. The way he kinda shut her up. Arranged marriage?
Shlok's brother's wife
She make look pitiful when Anjali screams at her or even demeans her. But she is so-not-naive. Total gossip queen. She probably has an agenda in being so submissive to Anjali.
Niranjan
Ahh.. love this man. He is the manipulator. He could kill with his sweetness. Kudos to him for handling the situation so well. I am looking forward to his interaction with Shlok at home after this incident. How could he even pretend to be so calm?
Anjali
I know people probably hate her for her attitude & treatment of women. I don't support her for that, but I am sure she has her reasons. I feel that somewhere she herself has been insulted/degraded for being a woman. And also, she kinda preaches what she says- the way she is so submissive to Niranjan, and she even addresses him as 'saheb'.
Coming to the episode, her interactions with Shlok are interesting. I love how she doesn't pretend & tells Shlok that there is no need to touch her feet. Its like she lets him do what he wants, and yet at the same time, asserts her position. Its quite amazing that she is not like the typical mother who cries over her child not speaking to her, neither is she the wicked step-mother.
Who is she? Doesn't she 'love' Shlok, doesn't she yearn for him to speak sweetly to her?
Shlok
Behind this rough exterior, he is a softie. A dutiful son, a loving uncle to his niece, and a caring brother.
It's funny how despite being portrayed as an arrogant, misogynistic man, he comes across as the most sane man. Many might call me blind for saying this, but he actually doesn't hate women. Flashback to day 1, he didn't suspend the girl until she came to plead him. That was when he got irritated & thus, in a fit of anger, suspended her. Flashback to 1st meeting with Aastha. Before even speaking to Aastha, he attempted to find out the truth from the man 1st. Him manhandling her was the last thing he did, & not the 1st. That makes a big difference. Even towards his mother, yes his eyebrows flare but he never crosses the limit in insulting her. Instead, he doesn't say anything. Isn't that silence a mark of respect?
Aastha
Poor girl. She always tries to do good, but ends up creating trouble for Shlok. Bad timing. Not much to say about her. She is kind of a cliched character. But some points that I appreciate would be that she is very informal when speaking to Shlok (quite a change I must say), she doesn't keep finding an opportunity to get back at Shlok. This is what I love most about the lead characters. Despite their hatred/dislike for each other, they try to mind their own business & don't purposely get in each others' way. And I like her maturity- she doesn't believe in insulting people, she puts their respect/honour first, unlike most female leads, who don't think about the consequences of what they are doing. I hope she stays sane like this.
And special mention to Avinash- i found his acting to be better today, compared to the other episodes, esp. when he got angry.
All in all, looking forward to the show. Can't wait to see these 2 in the rain tomorrow😳 I'm sorry I didn't mean to write such a long post.
Looking forward to read your comments.
Cheers,
