Chapter 5b

Garima and Manorama entered the kitchen and started preparing food for everyone to eat. Garima and shashi had decided to tell her about what they had talked about earlier so Garima broke the news to her. 'Manu you did believe what Arnav and khushi told you right?' Surprised was evident on her face. She had never imagined that they would have suspicions about whether she really believed them or not. She dropped the knife in her hand on the chopping board and turned towards Garima. 'Of course i believed them i trust Arnav and more than that i trust that Khushi, i am 100% sure it washer who decide to let the family know about they kidnap just as i am 100% sure Arnav was reluctant to to tell us, this is because i have seen Arnav grow up with Akash. Where Akash would come for help with his homework problems, Arnav would sit there and wouldn't give up until he solved it himself. Where Akash would confide business problems with his dad, Arnav wouldn't tell them unless absolutely necessary. However I am confused as to how it is all linked why would Shyam want to do something like this to them'

Garima held her hand and walked her to the dinning table and sat next to her. 'Shyam and Khushi go back quite a while. when Khushi was about 8 she had a dream of becoming the country's best fashion designer and her father didn't want her dream to break so we decided that at 14 she would go to boarding school and NK would follow in her footsteps. When she got there at first she was a bit upset and nervous which we thought was just because of the change then after a while she settled in and everything was going brilliant or that is what we were told but during that first year. Shyam was bullying her at first it was cyber bullying he would constantly demotivate her and make her upset with her self and lose her self confidence, then he became friendly with her and helped her feel a bit more confident in herself so she would trust him and eventually she did and told him about the bullying and he said he would deal with it. and he did it. He stopped but he kept clinging to her. At the end of the first year we all decided to surprise her by turning up on campus, we contacted the head and the dorm advisers and everything was set.' she paused to get a control over her voice which was getting mixed with her sobs alongside Manorama's. Manorama squeezed her hand and encouraged her to speak up. 'when we got there we met Shyam and he showed us the way to her room, when we got there she was tied up to her bed almost naked and had tears in her eyes, Shyam trying to be seen as trustworthy to us, helped her.'

FLASHBACK

Her room door swung open.

'SURPRI...KHUSHI...KHUSHI!!!'

there lay on the bed was Khushi, tied up in black ropes with a cloth in her mouth. her clothes all ripped and her Bra and Panties on show. Shyam ran up to her.

'Khushi, how did this happen are you okay, who did this.' he bent closer to her ear and reached for the rope on the far end and whispered harshly 'you speak one word about what actually happened and i will make sure that i continue further than just ripping your clothes and touching you, your lucky i got a call about your parents arriving'

he pulled back and help her sit up. By this time Shashi and Garima had walked up to her untied her and covered her with a blanket.

END OF FLASHBACK

'KYA how dare he!! How can he do that and get away with it why didn't you report it to the police this is wrong, and why did you let him get away with it' *Whistle* the steam cooker in the kitchen annouced that the food was ready. Garima got up and walked towards the kitchen and that's when Manorama understood that there is more, much more, to understand than what Garima is saying and she would have to take her somewhere she could take it out. Manorama had decided that whatever happened she wouldn't let that creep get away with anything and would protect Payal and Anjali, regardless of how she acted, from the likes of him. she got up and followed to the kitchen after washing her face to prevent suspicion. Once dinner was ready they went out to call everyone in.

Garden

'Okay everyone get fresh and come to the table the food is set.' Garima announced and everyone followed Mami in while Garima stood back. When Shashi was about to go in Garima held him back, once the door closed Garima spoke 'I have told Manu about how Khushi met Shyam as we agreed but i know she has more questions and i think she has the right to all the truth of what happened and what Arnav had done for her then have you talked to Arnav about what he is going to do' ' Garima first of all Manu definitely has a right to know and if she wishes then you can tell her all of it including Arnav's involvement, but only if she wishes to know, understand' she nodded. 'good and Arnav has planned something but i don't know what it is he and Khushi have decided to do.' after talking a bit more about what had happened. they went inside just in time to see everyone settling down at the table.

'Khushi you and Arnav go and sit on the sofa that way you can lift your leg up and sit' Mami said as Khushi sat down at the very end of the table, with Akash and Arnav by her side, not wanting her to strain herself. However Khushi being Khushi didn't agree. 'why Mami, when else will your two sons come in handy, right guys?' she winked at them 'huh?...huh?' confusion written all over there faces. Arnav looked at her with a raised eyebrow. It was only when he felt Khushi's leg rest on his thighs did he realise what she meant. 'Bhabhi, why are you putting up both your legs up when it is only your one leg that is injured' Akash questioned quirking his eyebrow and crossing is arms at his chest. whereas Arnav was setting a pillow on his lap so Khushis leg would hurt if she moved it. 'are why not...' she struggled to come up with an excuse, cursing Akash under her breath she shrugged her shoulders and said as coolly as possible, 'i was anyways going to put two feet up, so' Arnav chuckled 'Khushi leave we all no you can't lie' he mouth dropped and her eyes flew wide open. Akash shoved a morsel of food in her mouth and Arnav shut her mouth. at this action everyone laughed.

Khushi smiled as she looked at everyone having light-hearted conversations and cracking jokes while they finished dinner. She was happy that once again everyone was happy even if it was for a short period of time. 'your amazing you know' Arnav whispered to her whilst stroking her leg up and down her leg stopping just below the knee. 'That i am, everyone knows' she winked at him and continued 'but may i please know how you came to this wonderful conclusion about me?' she whispered back and sat waiting for a reply. Arnav chuckled and spoke with admiration evident in his voice 'your one special piece, i said that because you truly are, whenever you or anyone of us has to face a problem, it's you who is the most distressed and its you who brings a smile onto everyones face too.' Khushi was overwhelmed but she didn't show it, she just nodded her head and with a concentration look on her face smiling slyly on the inside. She the turned to the table 'Payal, can you go in the kitchen and get me a plate of Jalebi please'

Garima and Shashi looked at Khushi in confusion, everyone else knew what would happen 'what did you say this time Bhai' Akash said with a massive grin plastered on his face which didn't falter when Arnav glared at him. it was alway him. This always happened with Akash and Arnav, it was Khushi's 'Sarcasm Special' as everyone called it.

Payal, in the meantime, had been to the kitchen and brought out some Jalebi on a plate and handed it to Khushi. Khushi took the plate from her ' everyone my husband has, after knowing me for 10 years and 6 months of marriage, has realised that i am amazing, so iss khushi mein mu meetha ho jaye' she picked up a peice of Jalebi and bit into it and then smiled and everyone, including Arnav, burst out laughing ' tum be na Khushi, you make a mountain out of a mole hill' Garima said sensing the sarcasm. 'what no this worthy of a celebration, i mean its not everyday that you get compliments from the great ASR, now is it.' she said with unconvincing seriousness. Arnav crossed his arms and sat back into his chair. 'acha, i rarely compliment you now.' 'no you compliment me a lot, however when it comes to my intelligence...' everyone laughed again.

Soon Mami announced that they should be getting back now as it is late in the evening. Once they left Arnav took Khushi back to there room and helped her redress her wound.

Present

'TING TING'

the seat belt sign and the lights overhead turned on waking Arnav up from his sleep. He opened his eyes and saw that he had feel asleep on Khushi's lap. Looking up at her he realised that she was still fast asleep. He chuckled Devi Mayyia you saw right she didn't get up to the seat belt sign but as soon as i move her eyes will open, and that's exactly what happened Arnav got up from her lap and the second later he heard a mumble 'Arnaaav, why are you getting up' slowly she opened her eyes fully and notice that everyone was up and putting there seat belts on. She glanced over to Arnav and saw him smirking. 'what?' 'nothing...nothing' but Khushi knew that inwardy he was laughing, and she was glad at least the sleep had helped him and now we wasn't as distressed as he was before the flight. 'can all passengers please fasten their seat belts as we prepare for landing' . Khushi smiled at Arnav and put her arms up. Arnav watched this and chuckled 'your such a child' she giggled 'you know very well that i am not a child' she winked at him.'acha, prove it' without giving him time to understand her intentions she pulled him to her and gave him a quick kiss. Arnav was just about to say something when he saw everyone stand up.

Once out of the plane and checked they walked out to the baggage area. 'mumma, papa you go out and find NK me and Khushi will bring the bags' 'no don't worry Arnav i will get mine and Garima's you just get yours and Khushi's'. After much argument from Shashi, Khushi got the upper hand and they reluctantly agreed and left out of the gate to the Arrivals Area and went to find NK. Garima and Shashi walked out of the baggage area and scanned the airport for their son. 'Shashi i bet that good for nothing son of your doesn't even remember that we are coming.' 'he's my son now!?..how is it my fault if he forgot' Shashi retorted. 'who said he forgot in the first place' a deep masculine voice said. Before she could turn around Garima was hugged from behind 'i missed you mumma' He kissed her cheek. Garima turned around and hugged him properly. 'Aaw my baby i missed you too' they were inturupted by Shashi 'kamal hai, everyone seems to be forgetting me these days' they laughed. NK walked towards him and gave him a big bear hug. 'don't worry papa, its nothing personal' he paused and went back to garima and hugged her from behind then continued 'but mumma is too beautiful to miss' 'haww besharm ladka' Garima hit him over the head.
