I have long since lost all hopes of Samud.

• The serial is for an Indian audience reluctant to compromise with traditional values. Once married the reunion of former lovers is impossible.
• Kumud is an ideal bahu'.
• Saras vows again to be a sanyasi.
• Kumud declares reformation movement', and takes the mission of recovering, retrieving Pramad from his weaknesses (wine and women).
• Signs of Pramad-Kumud union are obvious. There is two-way communication between them nowadays. He who attempts to push to her depths/death (first night) now saves her from falling. Pramad toes the line, though with reluctance.
• Pramad and Kalika are not lovers. Both were exploiting each other's companionship for specific selfish reasons.
• Kalika's ploys are foiled by Saras and Kumud.
• Saras " Kusum union are in the offing.
• SLB has a penchant for tragedies (the lead pair).

I watch the serial nowadays for the good acting rendered by some of the actors.

It's a pity Saraswatichandra is just the titular character, reduced to a stooge.
