"Chhu ke mujhe guzree ho yoon,
Dekhoon tumhe, ya main sunoon."
Touched. Jalaal is so touched, warmed and moved by Jodha's officially FIRST gesture of kindness, compassion and an amazon heart towards him and his child. Till date, he had seen her beauty, her valour, her arrogance, her defiance , her bravery , her ego - he had been besotted, intrigued , frustrated and fascinated by it. But this is the first time, Jodha has filled his heart with something - Warmth. The kind that gives you comfort and a confidence that no matter where you are , someone out there is lighting a candle for you and hoping that you stay protected from all ill-will.
The impact of the poem, the silver spoon and Jodha's verbal recitation and meaning of that prayer poem continues. Jalaal comes into the durbaar and his eyes and feet linger where Jodha sits - almost like he wants to hold her sight everytime sees her ( and that registers with Ruqqaiya as she sees Jalaal play a fleeting aankhon-ki-gustaakhiyaan with Jodha , in passing).
Jodha is struck, touched and surprised by the affectionate honour and respect that Jalaal bestows on her. He honours all presents but he puts Jodha's exceptionally loving gesture and present above everything - even above Bakshi , Hameeda and Maaham. He has seen a glimpse of Jodha's purity and he wants Ruqqaiya and the unborn child to be blessed by it. Infact, you can safely say that Jalaal almost proudly shows off Jodha to everyone, including Ruqqaiya - that this Rajput wife of mine -Jodha , is a blessing and i want that luminescence to emanate everywhere.
Jodha , on the other hand , says nothing but sees Jalaal in a new light - respecting her, talking to her and about her with an affectionate fondness in his voice, looking at her minus his signature Mughal ego dash, reveling in the moment of becoming a father , singing and swaying with his foster son. No. Jodha is not saying anything . But this soft side of Jalaal is sinking in with her.
And what did it take to end the cold vibes? A small gesture from a flawless heart to a thirsty heart. The moment Jodha lowered her voice and her invisible sword, Jalaal's Mughal ego and his invisible chess board disappeared as well. Its not a truce exactly - but it has all the ingredients of a truce.
We do not know what will happen tomorrow after Ruqqu loses her child. Maybe Jalaal will blame Jodha, maybe he will stand by her , maybe Jodha will not be involved at all, Whatever it is, it will keep the rice pot of JJ's relationship boiling - positive or negative , it will give another shade to their tumultuous but passionate relationship.
Anyway, don't judge Jalaal in case he loses his mind and logical senses after his baby is lost. He will be a father in mourning and emotions are usually just passionate and intense - brains can go on a break for a while. One can only hope that he will be able to see that Jodha is innocent ( if at all, she is blamed ) - if he doesn't , try and understand his position.
Ruqqu? As much bad as i will like to feel for her, i hope she allows me to , without mentioning the loss of the 'MUZ' throne. She is a woman and was going to be a mother , so i want to feel bad for her in SYNC with what she is feeling.
P.S- I liked MA's and Aadham's scene. I think the makers need to make it clear that MA's obsession with Jalaal was maternal and of fierce possession - not a political chessboard to fake everything and make way for her son. In the film, MA had made it clear that she believed she was Jalaal's mother. You could see her maternal jealousy from Jodha. But here, i need more clarity on MA's 'FEELINGS' for Jalaal , apart from baby-sitting him and trying to ruin the lives of his wives.
