18 till i die
Sophie Choudry, actor/singer
My college…
I went to the London School of Economics.
Favourite hangout…
There was an Italian coffee shop literally inside our campus which was a hot hangout area. We would always grab our cappuccino from this shop and chill out.
We also had a pizza and burger place where everyone would have their lunch besides which the reception area in our college was the most popular hangout place.
Pocket money…
I wasn't allowed to work, so I got money from home. I don't remember the amount but I got what I wanted. I was slightly spoilt though I was quite a responsible child.
If I were 18 again…
I majored in French and politics knowing that I wanted to be an actor and a singer…though I wish I had joined the New York Film School.
Most memorable moment…
Was when our most brilliant teacher took his top seven students out for dinner in Paris. He is a leading figure on geopolitics and to be amongst his top students was a dream.
Of course I was elated especially since the rest of the group was French and I was the only Asian. Over dinner he asked us all what our plans were after we graduated and everyone said politics, diplomacy, etc.
When it came to me, I happily said I wanted to be a singer and actress. The shocked expression on everyone's face was priceless.
Lesson learnt…
For most people, college days are the best and I think the valuable lesson I learnt in college was to be open to life. In college there were people from all walks of life and all backgrounds and this made me very adaptable.
