No more item song for Salman - Katrina

Contrary to reports that Katrina would be joining Salman for an €œitem song€ in Salman€™s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri€™s production O Teri , Katrina has decided to not get into the the shake-and-shimmy space after Chikni chameli unless the material offered goes beyond what she did in that Ganesh Acharya-choreographed number in Agneepath which according to trade experts, went a long way into making the film so successful.

Says a close friend of Katrina, €œChinkni chameli became a benchmark for item songs not only in Katrina€™s career but also in Hindi cinema. Everything else seems a climb-down.For Katrina to go into the €˜item€™ space again would require an infinite amount of resourcefulness on the part of the composer and choreogrpaher.No one can do a Chikni chameli again. Not even Katrina.€

Also, it seems Katrina has decided to be very careful about the lyrics she lip-syncs.
