The Queen Bee

When somebody in the halls of St. Louis said that name, an image of a girl in loose pants, with her hair tied up, acne and big glasses popped into your head.

Next popped up an image of an amazingly built, hot, smart dancer, Swayam Shekhawat, who just happened to be her brother, and then a big question mark popped up. How did one sibling turn out to be just so good looking and one turn out to be so-so ugly?

But this was 3 years ago.

After 3 years of extra dedication and effort in England with her best friend Sharon Rai Prakash, Taani was back in India to do her last year of college in St. Louis. She was once again going to walk the halls of the same school, where people used to snicker behind her back and call out names and quickly hide their face. In the halls, where people barely acknowledged her existence, and if they did, it was for her brother.

But this time, she was different. She was hot, beautiful, smart, funny, and totally social. With her long brown hair, light grey eyes, and slim figure, she was a new eye catcher.

"Taanu, Taani c'mon we're gonna be late for our flight." yelled another feminine voice.

Or atleast that's how she was known in England, but how were the people in England supposed to know what she looked like before.

Sharon was one of those people who kept her feelings locked up and didn't let people come close to her. And no one could blame her either. Her lonely childhood, between a mother who had died due to pregnancy complications and a father who kept himself busy in work in order to not miss his wife, had her isolating herself

The only reason she was so close with Taani was because they had been friends since their childhood. Her isolation often came off as attitude to people, hence landing her the name of "The Diva" but she wasn't bad at all.

A girl who cried in DDLJ when Shahrukh was getting beat up or someone who was overjoyed when Salman finally got the girl in Maine Pyaar Kiya couldn't possibly be so rude.

But why shouldn't she be? She definitely had the looks for it. Her medium wavy auburn hair, light hazel eyes and pearly white smile would have anyone falling for her.

Her nerd image had completely been wiped off, almost as if it never existed. Her braces, braided hair and always polished sneakers completely vanished.

"I'm coming Shar" Taani yelled back.

Taani ran forward extending her hand for Sharon to grab. Sharon leaned back, grabbed Taani's hand and increased her speed towards their terminal.

"Hello, uh hi, uhm our tickets." Sharon said between breaths.

"Uhm ma'am I'm sorry but you've missed the flight." The lady handed back Sharon, ShaAni's stuff.

"What, no, Can you just call back the flight for two seconds?" Taani ran her hand through her hair.

"Sorry ma'am but we can't call a whole flight back for just 2 passengers. I can get you on the next flight if you like."

"Excuse me? Just two passengers? Do you even know who we are?" Sharon narrowed her eyes at the lady.

"Uh no"

"That's it, I want to talk to your manager now." Sharon slammed her hand on the desk

The lady squirmed and quickly hustled away. A few minutes, an elderly man stood infront of ShaAni.

"Yes ladies, how can I help you today?"

"Ok yes, I want you to arrange a private jet for me and my friend in a half an hour?" Sharon said.

The man snickered. "Ma'am sorry to say but you are just a normal person, no one special, so we can't arrange a jet for you."

The man's response caused Sharon to step back a bit. "No one special" that's exactly what Yuvraj Sethi had said to her when she had asked to be in his group 5 years ago.

Taani put her hand on Sharon's shoulder and stepped forward.

"Listen mister, I am the daughter of THE RISHI SHEKHAWAT and if my dad wanted he could buy this stupid airport. And you know her? She's the daughter of THE SHAANTANU RAI PRAKASH. So I suggest you do what she has told you to do."

The man's witty expression quickly turned into a fearful one. He nodded.

"Yes ma'am, just give me 5 minutes."

Taani smirked.

"That's what I thought."

Sharon and Taani walked away from the counter and sat down. Taani looked over to Sharon, to see a swollen face.

"Hey Shar, don't worry about what the man said. You're super special to me."

Taani side hugged Sharon. When she pulled away, Sharon was still upset.

"Sharon, Sharon c'mon na it's okay."

Sharon didn't even make eye contact with Taani. Taani got up and quickly walked away. Sharon looked up to see no one around her and got confused. She got up and started looking around when she saw a chocolate pop up in front of her. She turned around to find a smiling Taani.

"Yeh dosti hum nahin todenge, todenge dum magar tera saath na chhodenge" Sharon's frown turned into a hidden smile.

"Aw c-mon Shar, I know you can do better." Taani said thrusting the chocolate towards Sharon.

Sharon grabbed the chocolate and jumped onto s lounge chair. "Yeh dosti hum nahin todenge
Todenge dum magar tera saath na chhodenge"

They both started laughing but were soon interrupted by the elderly man.

"Ma'am your plane is ready." He tried his best to smile.

Sharon took her chocolate and gave it to the man. "Thank you so much."

Sharon walked while Taani followed her.

"Bhai, papa I'm finally coming home." Taani thought.
