Celebrities like Bachhans and Rais who are icons for a lot of Indians do immense harm by promoting superstitions and stupid practices. I am disgusted with the whole Bachhan and Rai family for getting Aish married to a tree to ward off Manglik bad luck. They could easily have put their foot down and said no, we don't believe in this manglik business and a lot of people would have cited their example. In Lage Raho Munnabhai, this Manglik issue was given a brief treatment.
And take the case of adding extra alphabets to names of people, movies and TV-serials. Absolutely ridiculous!! Celebrities can do so much good with their celebrity status like refusing to model for cola adverts etc.
When Aishwarya Rai came in public campaigns saying that she had pledged her eyes for donation, a lot of people came forward and pledged their eyes, which has been admitted by eye banks. Pity she didn't stand up for this Manglik issue.
Aishwarya Rai marries a tree; case against Bachchans
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are getting married and the story
surrounding the couple is refusing to die.

The recent development is that a Public interest litigation has been
filed against Aishwarya Rai for marrying trees. It is known that
Aishwarya had some problems in her horoscope and had to marry a tree
or an animal first before getting married to a human. It is said that
the dhosham in her horoscope was the main reason for the delay in the
engagement with Abhishek.

Now a case has been filed in the Patna High court by a lady lawyer
stating that this act is equivalent to untouchability and the
Bachchans must be arrested for making Aishwarya Rai marry trees. It is
learnt that Aishwarya had married a peepal tree at Benaras.

The lawyer has also demanded a public apology from the Bachchans and
said that such acts from a celebrity would promote superstitions among
common people.

I dunt know much about this Manglik things n supersitions n all as a i live in Pakistan and all of this is not even counted here, forget practiced. However some families in India believe awfully lot in all this and follow these practices if nesscary. So i guess at the end of the day it all depends on ur religious beliefs. If they believe in it, then i feel that they have all the right to carry it out. Its not like they want to promote. Im sure if any family makes me marry a tree u wudnt even find out abt it. Just because they are famous doesnt means that we should point our fingers towards them at every single thing they do. Sorry if i hurt any1. 😊

The most disheartening part of this imbroglio being, many Indians consider these mere filmstars as role models 🤢

I fail to understand why Aishwarya or the Bachchans should be put on a pedestal and are considered worthy of emulation 😕 Blindly giving credence to whatever the filmstars do is idiocy at its best...They are mere humans with a multitude of frailities and shortcomings,I for one cant care less as to how superstitious they are!Its their personal life, and they shouldnt be saddled with the responsibility of being a role model to the society.Infact they shouldnt be given any importance at all, they truly are NOT THAT important that we lose sleep over these preposterous issues.🤢 🤢 🤢 🤢..

funny though today I noticed SRK also in it 😆 😆 (great going karna to sab kuch emulate karna kya 😉)

I am really disappointed in Indian tabloids, come on a Universal Pari descending to marry a tree, is a picture worth millions 😆

I think what they are doing to overcome insecurities is disgusting..They must be aware of a high probability of this marriage turning into splisville. I hope I am wrong.

Unfortunately whatever bollywood does becomes trendy and fashionable whether we like it or not and it eventualy trickles down into main stream.. For example weddings have become such elaborate events and no end to the show offs as to how much they can spend.

i think ash is just trying to be (belatedly?) the sati-savitri types so that she can blend in with the bachchans and make jaya the sas happy. wat's a girl to do? naheen kare toh bad bahu, karo toh bad role model for other gals. actually feel sorry for her. from now on, her life is going to be one set of ridiculous rituals after another. out go the partying and the late nites and all the other fun stuff 😉

for the bachchans to be so superstitious means that they somehow know that their fame and success has more to do with luck and heavenly graces, less with their ability 😊

Exactly....If they could achieve pinnacle of fame and adulation without doing any rituals, where did they lose the conviction?

I suspect these Ash,Abhi to be normal human beings. They too have their own private life.we should'nt bother if Ash marries a tree or cat .Its her life.
Bothering about the people who may try to follow these Bachha Bachhan and Bachha Bahu to be is not necessary as they (ash and abhi) are not brand ambasaddors of "Indian Superstition".

This istheir personal issue..
forget about advertisments....

when it comes to personal issues ppl follow their heart to choose the best options.. if Amitabh wants his sons happiness through this..

I dnt believe in horoscopes.. celebrities have a personal space which media always chooses to ignore...

It requires more than ordinary strength to stand up against superstition.
I had no negative remarks for the ash-tree marriage if it were done privately.
Media should just give up and let them live.

As for Ash, "All is fair in love". Tree-marrying is intensely stupid, but perhaps it speaks volumes of her love for her guy.

People should once and for all grow up and choose their ideals and let others live their private lives, instead of butting in constantly.

Knowing that media is watching them bachchans should be more craeful in order to avoid being ambassadors of blind faith.
