She had woken up the next morning with a renewed set of confidence, as she showered and got ready. There was no way she was going to be intimidated, this year is her final and it's the most important for her to maintain her grades and prepare for the pre entrance which is in 6 months time and she just has to keep as far away from the hallway or foyer or anywhere that she could be alone. (that's going to easy??? Considering you have so many friends?? No stop it manyata' positive thinking the year is going to be over before you know it)
She was greeted by the smell of freshly made honey and cinnamon pancakes and smiled instantly as she walked down to the kitchen
'Maria'
The old lady hugged her and smiled fondly, she had been their caretaker since manyata's mom was alive and was like the granny manyata never had. She loved her dearly.
'What time did you get back?'
'Oh a few hours ago?'
'Maria you didn't have to rush back, I would have been fine you know. You only get to see your kids once a year anyway way, how is Tony and Marianna?'
'I know you have grown up and can take care of yourself but I had promised your mother that I would always be around to make sure you ok, besides tony and Marianna left yesterday as they were called back early so I was planning on coming back today anyway'
Manyata smiled as she took a bite of the pancakes
'Thank you maria, these are delicious'
She looked at her watch and realized the time not wanting to be late. She rushed out
'Sorry maria will catch up later, got to go, bye'
'But manya.. you didn't take any lunch'
But she was already out and running out the lawn, maria smiled looking at her.
'If only your mom could see what a beautiful women you are turning into'
The day was going fairly well, she didn't see him and was relieved. It was lunch now and the students were making their way to the cafeteria and she walked to her locker to leave her books, she didn't feel like going to the cafeteria and have to eat alone.
'hey manyata'
She turned around to see the friendly face of rahul and smiled
'Hi Rahul'
'Headed to the cafeteria, want to join me?'
'No its ok, I was just going to'.'
'Going to eat alone?? I don't think so now come my friends will love to meet you'
She shrugged, he really was genuinely sweet and had a cute dimple in his left cheek
She took a tray for her lunch and followed rahul who was headed towards a table where a cute girl sat deeply engrossed amidst a discussion with a chubby looking guy who really was not given a chance to speak as the girl was going on and on. Rahul cleared his throat and shook his head and looked at manyata'You have to excuse them , its their daily dose of whose right and I told you so?'
Manyata smiled as she placed her tray down on the table finally getting the attention of the two
'Ok if you guys are done, I would like to introduce you someone'
'This is Manyata Singh, new student transferred from Rosewood and Manyata this is Kim and DJ'
They smiled as they started telling more about themselves, manyata couldn't help but notice the way kim looked at rahul, while all DJ spoke about was food and fast cars. None of which she could understand, they really were quite a nice normal bunch and kim was the type who just wouldn't stop talking.
'You are really pretty, I love your skin and hair'
Manyata flushed like a beetroot with kims comment and didn't know how to react to it. She smiled faintly and not wanting to sound vain or rude, she muttered a 'Thank you.. So are you'

She couldn't complete her sentence when she saw him, as if the air was being sucked out of the room. He had on a leather jacket puffing out a cigarette and looking deadly gorgeous, she looked away as he walked past, thankfully not seeing her. She pushed her hand over her cheek as she felt how heated they were as soon as he sat the cafeteria was buzzing again
'ok let me fill you in manyata.. no that's too long I will call you manya. Those are the people we are not allowed or supposed to associate with, especially the hunk with leather jacket UV, his dad is some kind of underworld don and he practically runs the school. He comes and goes as he pleases, answers to no one. One more thing never get in their bad books and if by some chance you ever get asked to something do it and don't question it. And one more thing try to stay as far away from them as possible'..they usually have initiation for all the new students and'
Manyata didn't want to hear anymore she just wanted to get out of there, their table wasn't far away and she didn't want to be a scapegoat in front of the other students but how was she to leave, if she stands up to leave he would see her.

Rahul watched her expression the minute UV had walked in like she had seen a ghost
She shook her head and smiled faintly ' Yes I am .. I am fine just waiting to go for next class'
Their conversation was interrupted by

Manyata looked up straight into the creeps face who was with those girls yesterday intimidating a nervous kim

He grabbed rahuls collar and looked angrily at him while kim jumped up immediately begging him to leave rahul alone and she would do his assignment now and give it to him.

Manyata felt sick, her cheeks were heated, all the other students were looking at her and rahul, dj and kim were looking at her with sorry filled eyes knowing that they couldn't help her. All she wanted to do was run out of there fast.
While ria and her sidekick were laughing and painting their nails, UV stood up walking towards her, manyata didn't have to look in his direction to feel his presence. The siren went off signaling end of lunch yet still no one moved out from their seats.
'We meet again' MAN YA TA' clearly emphasizing each syllable
Saying nothing and not even looking at him, she swallowed hard as she heard him light another cigarette and look at the other students which was a signal for them to leave, she felt relief as she saw them all move and also stood up to leave with rahul and gang only to be stopped by his voice

Fear now crept into her as she decided to ignore him and rush out with the cluster of students only to feel her arm forcefully pulled back and was turned to face him

He felt the heaving of her chest and heard her breathing hitch'. Slowly he placed the glasses back on her nose, she knew her face was flushed and could feel the heat radiating of her skin.

Not knowing or understanding what his new game is, she decided to reach for her bag and leave quickly before he changes his mind, without saying a word to him she turned and started to walk fast.

Shit I knew there was something to it, why else would he let me off so easily. Just agree to it, doing his homework for the year is fine as long as he wont be in your face like he is now

Why did he keep saying that? What did he want her to do? Change the frame? The style? The colour? Not having the energy to say anything or even turn around and look at him, she just nodded her head agreeing with him and opened the door and ran out.She ran straight to the toilets and splashed some water on her face trying to calm her racing heart. Still feeling his lips on her skin, she wiped her face and stared at her reflection. She searched her bag for a hair tie and couldn't find one as he had taken the one she had so now that left her hair open, which she hated. She still had one more class to go to but her stomach was in knots after what just happened. As she came out the toilet and looked around for any sign of him, relief spread throughout her when she saw rahul and kim walking towards her.
They rushed towards her and apologized for having to leave her alone, while kim amidst the whole conversation kept staring at manyata
'Your hair looks really good left loose'
Manyata sighed not wanting to tell her that he had taken her hair clip, instead she said that she had lost it and that's why her hair is left open.
'So UV didn't do anything to you?'
Manyata shook her head, 'No instead he said no one will taunt me'
'WHAT?'
Both rahul and kim exclaimed together as she looked at them confused
