Daniel 'Harry Potter' Radcliffe's plan to appear naked on stage has angered parents the world over. Parents feel that as a role model for kids, the-boy-who-lived must carry his halo beyond the screen. Speak Up asks Mumbai parents if they're worried
What's the fuss about: Daniel Radcliffe will play Alan Strang, a mentally disturbed youth who blinds six horses with a metal spike. The role requires the actor to simulate sexual pleasure while riding naked on his horse.
He should've thought about his fans
I would not want my son to come across nude photographs of Daniel Radcliffe. He has sent out a wrong message to his fans. Harry Potter has a huge fan following, most of them kids, who get easily influenced.
He should have thought about them before appearing nude. I fully support parents in England who are protesting. If Shah Rukh was to do something like this, even we would boycott his movies. Kanan Gandhi. Matunga
Who are we to decide for him?
He has all the freedom in the world, so let him do what he wants. Besides, he is growing up and no one can stop him. I don't think we should make decisions for him. Let him decide for himself. It is his career, after all. Smita Thomas. Parel
Dan is being irresponsible
Daniel Radcliffe is identified everywhere as Harry Potter and kids around the world idolise him. He is a role model to them; whatever he does is emulated by kids. He should maintain a certain level of dignity because of that. Stars who become role models should not ignore their responsibility and act in a seemly manner at all times. Vaibhav Taimni. Tardeo
I really don't mind if Daniel poses nude. He can do any role he wants if he has the confidence to carry it. Let's give him an opportunity. Harry Potter was a different film character altogether, so it doesn't really matter. Sakshi Teckchandani. Lokhandwala
