"I put on my sneakers and walk around looking at places" ' Karan Tacker

Model turned actor Karan Tacker is a happy go lucky and very down to earth guy who loves to travel and explore different cities. He shared his traveling experiences with us.

What does travel mean to you?

Travel, to me, means exploring new places.

What is your fondest memory during your many trips and travels?

I think London; it was my second trip there and I absolutely love that place. Something about the city makes me feel like I'm not too far away from home.

Any place which has left a deep impact on you?

I have been to Cape Town, and absolutely loved it. The black sea meets the white water. It's absolutely scenic and beautiful.

Any disappointing experience?

None yet.

What do you like to do on vacation?

Depends where I am. There are two types of vacation, one where you're exploring and one where you're chilling. So, usually if I want to chill around, I choose a beach place. I actually do nothing and bum around the entire day on a beach bed and you know just basking in the sun. Otherwise, I put on my sneakers and walk around looking at places. I think the best way you can explore a city is by foot, so I love walking around in a new place.

Which was your most recent holiday?

I just came back from London. It was a work/holiday trip.

Which places do you have on your wish list?

Oh, I don't know how much you can fill in that column. (laughs)

I'm looking forward to go to Scotland, Venice, Italy, Spain. Primarily entire Europe. I really want to see Eastern Europe because it has a lot of history and culture to see. Its very inviting for tourists, and is easy to visit and explore. Also, one place I'm looking forward to visit is Leh. I have heard it's magnificent. So many movies are also shot over there.

Indian tourism vs. foreign tourism. Which is better?

I'll be honest about it. I haven't really explored India, so I cannot comment on it. But I believe India, particularly North India and the eastern part of North India is really beautiful.

Which is an ideal place for a budget vacation?

The most ideal place would be my living room. (laughs)

I think the closest ideal spot from Mumbai would be Goa.
