Hey guys.... Hey Teena i'm back and i have so much to say on this one... great topic sweetie.

Its just a thought, which is haunting me for a while now, so I thought of having your views on this. When Big Boss started , I wished I could see Gaurav in this show, to see Gaurav chopra in real, daily.......😛

But as the show progressed , I found this show is really very different... The atmosphere in the house is not friendly most of the times, rather it is a game to win , So I have some questions for all of you....

We would love to watch him in real dancing, singing, chatting but .....

Ok before i address these questions specifically, i want to give my take on reality shows per se....

1. Reality shows are not really 'real' in the sense that they are mostly edited.... even shows where there are some 20 cameras, the choice to show what has been shot through 1 particular camera and reject the other 19 is also a choice that the team behind the show makes.... and these 'powers that be' are driven only by the market and by profits, by TRPs. For instance, the new voting system in NB2, which allowed people to vote out each other, simply upped the visible conflict quotient of the show.... there was conflict and hostility last time too but one would know that only if one read the gossip mags... the tv version was relatively sanitised. Its not as if they wanted this set of contestants to be more or less friendly with each other (as someone suggested in the NB section)... i'm sure they wouldnt give a damn about that. Becuase of this, one can never quite be sure at the outset, as a participant, of what is going to happen to one... since i would presume that it would be decided on a response basis...

2. See my problem with competetive reality shows is, at a much lower level of signifcance, similar to my problem with the examination system.... its a system of evaluation where other people sit and look at one sample of your work, ie one performance, one song, one answer will determine the value assigned to you... there are so many factors that affect preformance.... similarly, so many factors affect the way the person who's evaluating that performance reacts... and these factors do not get taken into account.... however, i also realise that any kind of evaluation will depend on competition, so i'm not saying one should not have competitions at all... but its just that having to watch competitions, that too ones made sordid, in the name of entertainment gets to me at times.... though i saw all of NB so i'm probably the worst hypocrite around.

3. This brings me to my last point, namely, that why do reality shows have so much appeal? I think this is because they are a replay of Darwinian 'survival of the fittest'.... like capitalism, which also re-enancts Darwinism to some extent, a reality show is about each individual/team for itself and survival is always at the cost of another.... as audience, when one has no stakes in the contest, there's something very appealing and exciting about watching such a contest.... whether its a man being thrown to the lions, a man fighting a bull or the most sordid of the reality shows (not all, the ones most open about their motives), its violence and ruthlessness appeals to some primal instinct in us, i guess. The subtler versions manage to retain the appeal of the ruthlessness while remaining within largely acceptable frameworks.

Achcha, lecture over for the day. This is just my theory though and i'm still thinking it through.... therefore reactions are most welcome 😊

Would we like to see Gaurav bitching about his mates especially girls.?😕 Again, Teena i'll make a simple question complicated, as always. 😃. What does 'bitching' mean? We all talk about the people around us and about people in public life... and we are not always complimentary. There are things that one says to friends and part of the unspoken pact of friendship is that those things will go no further. Its human nature and he would do it too.

But i have seen some trailers of big boss and i read some posts in the Big Boss section.... and i have realised that in the show the 'bitching' is of a different kind.... its frequently pointless, as in not really arising from any kind of grown up difference of opinion but from childish spats. And the structure of the show makes it as malicious as possible. At this point, I can only quote my best friend: "Never get into an argument with a pig... you'll both get dirty, but the pig will enjoy it".... there are times when silence is perhaps the only way of dealing with a situation... what i'm trying to say is this, whatever little i've seen of Big Boss, i wouldnt want to see Gaurav indulging in that kind of 'bitching'.

Would we like to see Gaurav cooking, washing , brushing and sleeping..😉? Honestly, not really. Nothing kills a crush faster than a good, strong, solid dose of reality 😆 😆

Would we like to see him having emotional outbursts and crying at National Television...😭 No. He didnt cry on NB, he wouldnt cry here... I dont think he is the kind of person who cries easily... probably can count the number of times he has cried in life and possibly that too on the fingers of one hand.... and doesnt show any kind of disappointment to anyone, except a few people who are very very close to him.... though must reiterate that this is largely speculative.

Can we go through the pain of his nomination for eviction every other week...😭 Well Teena i dont like Big Boss so dont know if it would be painful... but i was heartbroken when he and Narayani were out of NB1... i really wanted them to be back in the Wild Card and was rooting for them all the way... voted for them... and had long arguments with people in the NB section who said 'anger is a bad emotion'.... though given my absolute dislike of Big Boss, here i would probably be less affected.

If he has an affair with any girl within the house, what would be our reaction😛....Will we love watching him with his real love everyday.....😉? Hmmmm... Gaurav pe post and no discussion of his love life.... toh hum hum thodi rahenge 😉 😃..... well, as far as love is concerned, my opinion's still the same.... its the craziest thing in the world, you never know how it will happen or what turn it will take.... so i wont say that real relationships cant develop in high pressure situations.... they may or may not.... depends on the situation and the two people involved... i've said this earlier but will say this again... its so rare to find love, good for those who do find it, all the best to them and i'm happy for them. 😃

As for the girl being right or wrong for him, again i dont think there is any such thing... sometimes people right for each other do not stay together and people wrong for each other make a wonderful lifetime together.... sometimes the people are right but the time or the circumstances are not.... sometimes everything is right but still things go wrong because people do not talk to each other and end up seeing things differently..... so all i can say is that when something makes you feel on top of the world, i'm happy for you.

If given a choice between daily soap and Big Boss, what will be your preference for Gaurav? Well, actually i'd love to see him in films the most... perhaps some interesting main role in a niche movie or an interesting cameo in a large budget film... thats what i keep hoping he'll get. But from among these two, a daily soap any day, any time. 😊

I am analysing this in detail, because we read in one interview that he was offered Big Boss also....but could not accept due to some reasons...😊 Teena, maine itne detail mein analyse kiya hai ki tum haath jod ke bologi 'mujhe iss torture se mukti dilao' 😆 😆

Post your thoughts on above..........😊

Shvetal, I loved your detailed analysis, it was my pleasure.....whatever you said about reality shows is true, however I would like to add to this ... The essence of the reality show is that dialogues and emotions of the reality show characters are not scripted...But on the technical part and from the producers point of view , there is not much difference between reality show and TV soap..because they only want to show which audience wants to see...However important or useless that might be..Its the same business....I hate when in any reality show camera is focussed on anybody having emotional outbursts...why do they want to exhibit real human emotions just to sell their product....

Moreover if the reality show is about finding the best among singers or dancers...it is the weirdest thing to do...since our audience is very biased..and we have a large audience whose voting can ignore the talent and less superior may survive...Audience emotions play a great role in deciding the fate of contestant.

But BIG BOSS is not a recognition of the talent. I find this concept again bizarre...People inside the house will nominate 2 people every week and audience will try to save their favorite by debarring the other....Based on personal choices......

Yes Shvetal , when I asked this, I meant the bitching in this sense...in Big boss house, bitching is pointless, baseless....just for the reason that people are not able to find out healthy topics for discussion...and OMG sometimes I had to get out of the room , it was so disgusting...

I pray that we don't see him in indulging in this type of bitching...some genuine hard feeling against anybody ...thats human,...we can't change that..

I don't have a problem with this word "crush", Muneeza might have...😉

I don't know whether he cries easily or not...doesn't look like though...I appreciated his tolerance in Nach Baliye..when he was evicted and in the wild card round...when he was misunderstood....But again Big boss is different...If you are lonely for days ...don't have anybody to talk to...nothing else to do..can shatter a person but temporarily...but I hope he won't have such problems...

Rest everything is your opinion,, so won't comment more on that.....
