SRK sticks to his Jaago Re promise in Chennai Exp.

I really wasn't sure whether SRK would actually follow what he said during the Jaago Re advertisement for Tata Tea. He had said in the advertisement that from now on, to start with a small change, in every film of his, his heroine's name would appear before his. I really wanted to know if it was indeed true or like every star, he said it just for the sake of the advertisement.

But in Chennai Express, the movie starts with Deepika's name and then Shahrukh's name appears.

To be honest, I didn't want to make this post. I quickly searched for a pirated copy of Chennai Express just to check whether SRK did what he had promised, and I was like very sure he wouldn't because these superstars just talk and don't act when its necessary. So I was geared up to post how SRK's advertisement was just an eyewash and blah blah😆..but then whenever I find anything negative about an actor, I post it immediately in the forum so for a change I thought I'll post this as well,so that no matter how small the issue is, SRK has done something worth appreciating.😊

You have a really really low opinion about SRK to think he wouldnt do what he said on National television. 😆
But if you notice among the top stars in the 40+ age group SRK is the only one whose films still have heroines in important roles. He is most secure about sharing screen space with female leads that way. THAT is more important that putting your costar's name before you IMHO. Anyways I am glad he kept his promise.

I'm not surprised though...I expected him to do that because SRK genuinely doesn't mind if his female costars receive more limelight than him. Ask someone like Salman Khan to do that and now that would be praiseworthy. 😆

Thanks a lot for this post :-) indeed SRK is not among those who deviate from the promises they make. Moreover i feel that SRK has always appreciated the actress he worked wid, i never saw him taking complete credit of movie, and actresses in his movies are not just a showpiece, they have significant role.. Love everything about srk.. Deserved to be bollywood badshah

He called Kajol the hero in KKHH and Deepika the best thing about CE so he's a super star with less insecurities when it comes to his co actors which is a good thing :)

Its SRK. Like everyone else already said, for all his faults, he always makes sure the female lead gets enough respect...and he is easily the most secure male actor when it comes to letting his female co star take the lead..very few films of his have little to do for the actress...there is a reason why all his female co stars love working with him...they know that they will be well taken care of, respected, and will even have an opportunity to shine..even Kit Kat last year kept syaing the same thing..doing an SRK film means one thing for sure, the woman has a proper role ..😆 I mean even CDI was a hardcore feminist film!

Anyways, the idea is a very small step, but I'm glad he kept his promise.
