SRK turns Devdas on 'Indian Idol'

Get, set, po! This was Shah Rukh Khan's mantra on the sets of Sony Entertainment Television's popular music reality show, Indian Idol Junior. Accompanied by his 'Chennai Express' co-star Deepika Padukone and director Rohit Shetty, SRK was impressed with the budding singers.

The episode, dedicated to SRK, saw him at his entertaining best. He got nostalgic with hostess Mandira Bedi, as they recalled their DDLJ days.

Shah Rukh turned into Suri ji — his character in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi — for contestant Priyam and danced with her to the Chance Pe Dance number. He interacted with another participant, Akash, in pure Jat dialect.

Debanjana's rendition of Bairi Piya (from Devdas) left him spellbound. Deepika too wasn't to be left behind as she grooved to Dhum Ta Na with Debanjana. An impressed Rohit even offered her a song in his future movie.

Another budding talent, Sonakshi, also dazzled King Khan with her singing. After hearing about Sonakshi's acting skills, Deepika asked her to enact a scene from Om Shanti Om. She also enacted a scene from Devdas with SRK.
