Real-life couple Manav Gohil and Shweta Kawatra fight for justice together

This is one co-incidence all actor couples will die for. One of the most loved off-screen couples of television, Shweta Kawatra and Manav Gohil will now be seen on Sony fighting against injustice.

While Manav plays the part of an upright cop on CID, Shweta will be playing the role of Niyati Pradhan, a forensic expert on CID Special Bureau. For Shweta it wasn't a planned move and she states as a matter of fact, "I got a call from the production house. I liked the role so I took it up."

She began shooting for the promo yesterday. For the serial Shweta has been given a look different from how she is generally portrayed in other serials. Says she, "I am a doctor and have been given a business-like and professional look for the serial."

This also happens to be her second stint on the show as she had played the role of a forensic expert on the show, a few months ago for three episodes. When asked why she left the show earlier, she replies, "I did not leave the show. I was to do only the stipulated three episodes." So is this a comeback on the show? She muses for a while before replying, "I can't call it a comeback. The requirement of the show is different this time."

Husband Manav on his part is equally thrilled about Shweta's entry into the CID Special Bureau. "This is the first time we are working on shows from the same production house (Producer B P Singh's Fireworks Entertainment). I am glad she is doing the show. We wouldn't have scenes together, although I would love to," he says.

The couple had earlier played a cameo as makeover experts on Star One's Instant Khichdi. Shweta makes an appearance on CID Special Bureau on August 29.

Was she not there for sometime. I thought there was some problem or maybe she left like most characters. Then why this comback? Not trusting her husband 😆

Along with Shweta Kawaatra's return as forensic expert Dr Niyati Pradhan in Sony's CID — Special Bureau, there is also a brand new look for her.

As Pallavi in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Esha in Kkuusm, Kawaatra had a sari-clad image.

In stark contrast to this, and even to her earlier stint as Dr Pradhan, Kawaatra now has an extremely en vogue look, spectacles and all.

CID — Special Bureau becomes a daily from August 29, with Dr Pradhan a permanent member of the crack team.

FUSION FASHION: For an evening out — away from the lab?

Earlier on the show, Dr Pradhan and ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam) had a major showdown. There had been a fatal virus outbreak in the city and one of the CID officers was infected.

His only hope was a trial vaccine that Dr Pradhan had developed. However the vaccine was not tested and it was against her ethics to give it to the cop.

ACP Praduman ordered her to give the vaccine and on her refusal to do so, had fired her and threatened to kill her.

Terrified, she finally administers the vaccine. Though it saved the officer's life, she swore not to forgive him.

DEMURE GRACE: Dr Niyati Pradhan in a sari?

"Dr Pradhan did have her share of differences with ACP Pradyuman, but as fate has it, ACP Ajaishatru (Anoop Soni) convinces me on the requirement of my expertise to solve their cases," says Kawaatra about her character.

Her track begins in a crossover episode of CID from the August 26 episode and spills into CID — Special Bureau from August 29 to September 1, with the final conclusion in CID on September 2.

Kawaatra's husband, Manav Gohil, also features in CID.

Oh Oh does this mean Ajaatshatru will have a showdown with ACP because of Niyati. I cannot stand Swetha so I wish that Ajaatshatru finds that she is not who he expected her to be and she ends up quitting CID SB . Why could they not have brought back Dr Solanki
