Robert Singer about S9

So Supernatural season 9 is going to have its own Hannibal Lecter of sorts, as Robert Singer revealed in a chat Gather.com had with him in the press room at Comic-Con recently. Read on for what else is coming up.

On introducing new characters this season:"We have so many characters, balls we put in the air, starting at the end of last year and continuing this year that we have a lot of people to service, with Cas showing up regularly, Crowley showing up regularly. I'm sure we will, but right off the bat, we're just...[focused on] serving those people whose stories we've started and we need to continue."

On how long Crowley will be locked up: "I can't give you an exact time. We like this idea of Crowley sort of being our Hannibal Lecter, and like Hannibal Lecter, his goal is to get out and he's still clever and he's going to try everything he can. Eventually he will. Where that happens, we don't know yet. But we kind of like him in the cage. We like that the boys can have these one-on-ones with him... But [he's] always scheming. ...We'll play that as long as it takes."

On the beginning of the season: "I think our first three episodes this year, which are basically a three-parter that pretty much set up the run for the season, I think these are as good three episodes we've done in a row that I can think of. There's a big surprise in episode 1 that involves the boys. We really explore Cas and his dilemma."

Quickly describing the season in a few words: "Brothers. Fallen angels. Angry demons."
