'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: Robert Singer Talks First 3 Episodes, Crowley and the Winchesters, and MoreJuly 29, 2013 10:17 PM EDT So Supernatural season 9 is going to have its own Hannibal Lecter of sorts, as Robert Singer revealed in a chat Gather.com had with him in the press room at Comic-Con recently. Read on for what else is coming up.
On how long Crowley will be locked up: "I can't give you an exact time. We like this idea of Crowley sort of being our Hannibal Lecter, and like Hannibal Lecter, his goal is to get out and he's still clever and he's going to try everything he can. Eventually he will. Where that happens, we don't know yet. But we kind of like him in the cage. We like that the boys can have these one-on-ones with him... But [he's] always scheming. ...We'll play that as long as it takes." On the beginning of the season: "I think our first three episodes this year, which are basically a three-parter that pretty much set up the run for the season, I think these are as good three episodes we've done in a row that I can think of. There's a big surprise in episode 1 that involves the boys. We really explore Cas and his dilemma." Quickly describing the season in a few words: "Brothers. Fallen angels. Angry demons." Check out the video interview below to see what Robert Singer has to say about any possibilities of bringing back Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as John Winchester, the longevity of the show, and more.
