I would mention famous five but Julian and Anne made me want to become a fictional character just to whack them across their heads! 😆

Fatty, The st Clares series and the Malory Towers 😃 , Ah the joy.

@bold 🤣

I moved on to Nancy Drews after this phase.

Books are best friends indeed, I really enjoyed reading the book discussion. 😃

Dickens, A tale of two cities, A Christmas Carol, Great Expectations.

Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, O Henry and Chekov's short stories. Hobbit and Lotr series.

Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Emma, Kidnapped, The Cantebury tales, so many more.

I enjoyed Christie too, but Enid Blytons are special.😊

In Indian books, I read Shantaram, some Bhagat (not too impressed with him), The white tiger, The Melhua trilogy, The Namesake and others that I can't recall at the moment.

Reading is such a pleasure. 😃

Yeah. Gimme a book and I can forget eating too.😃
The Shiva Trilogy, did you enjoy it?

The stories are well plotted, and fast paced, I did enjoy. It's well written too.

Jaise Hobbits ki 3 part movie series? 😊 I did enjoy lotr movies, but never thought hobbit could be a 3 part movie ever.

I guess once a book, or any movie franchise's first part becomes a hit, they milk it all the way in 3's. 😛

Yepp... Definitely read the classics Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and The tennant of wildfell hall.. All three from three Bronte sisters!

I'm in Great Expectations but I'm just I don't know.. Initially it was brilliant! But now I'm getting a bit bored of it.. And it's becoming hell to actually get through it! Follet! I've got Pillars of the Earth but didn't have time to read it. Dan Brown.. Uhmm.. Istarted The Lost symbol.. Didn't have the stamina to finish it so I might not even bother with inferno.

Anyone read Khaled Hosseini?? I CRIED in The Kite Runner and A thousand splendid suns! Honest! I read sense and sensibility too by Jane Austen but Pride and Prejudice is probably her best. I enjoyed the story Rage of Angels by Sidney Sheldon and Bloodline. Read those??

Regarding chic lit.. I prefer watching the movies.. Takes less time.. And you get the whole story without doing your head in! And Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl! My two favourrites when I was young! Adored them! LOL! Julian was alright for me.. He was responsible for eveyone at the end of the day. But I couldn't stand Anne! and George used to piss me off with her 'timmy' nonsense. But Mallory Towers was Brilliant! Made me wish I went to an all girls boarding school! Lol! And anyone read the faraway tree adventures? That's also by Enid Blyton! She had a wonderful imagination! What about A series of unfortunate events? I used to bug my librarina in school to order the next in line for those!

Regarding Indian authors.. No I've only come across chetan bhagat and haven't even read any of his books cover to cover anyway. Oh hang on.. I read 'from Dongri to Dubai' by I'm not sure who.. Quite recently.. But left it half way. It's about dawood Ibrahim's life and how he conquered all those underworld Dons. Needless to say it became a bit boring to me once he shifted to Dubai!!! Not much of a story to tell then...dunnow why the writer kept it up!

My recommendation would be Jewel of St Petersburg by Kate furnivall. She's written fiction based during the revolution in Russia. If you enjoy such stuff.. That's worth a read. It's got a good love story in it and an easy read.

Vayuputras was so bad. I found my interest waning during Nagas.

I agree with almost everything said above.
Have to read your recommendation though.

Do any of you find James Hadley Chase good? Or Earl Stanley Gardener for that matter.
