gallows or forgiveness?

hey guys,

I need a bit of help from you people. First when karan was suspected that he killed gujaral, He was going to go to gallows and hanged with a rope[phansi] and now when nandini went to jail instead of him isn't she supposed to be dead right now? If karan was suppose to get phansi then how come nandini didn't get it? India is really confusing. and if you kill someone you go to jail for your whole lifetime. Not just 20 years!😕 I am really confused people. Can someone help me out please?😳

WELL . . . bail is the way nands got out and then ran away from karan.....and nands didnt go to the gallows because it was claimed to be a defensive kill

I sort of got the bail idea. but i don't think they can let you bail someone if they were murder. But sort of confusin

there's a vast amount of abuse of the indian penal code in balaji serials. you should've seen one called kaisa yeh pyar hai. lots of court-situations. violent abuse of the law, left, right and center!

you're right -- the automatic punishment for murder isn't hanging. in fact, it differs from judge to judge, case to case. it's only a really serious offence - like a terrorist attack - that CAN get a death sentence. it's not automatic even in this case. there are always appeals, etc.

one of these days, i'm going to make a lot of money suing these ridiculous tv serial production houses for their misrepresentation of the law (among other things).
