As human beings we all have shades and sides to us, some vary distinctly and some are just different versions of our basic personality.

I don't remember being fond of a character on tv as much as I've grown to love Mohan Bhatnagar. There have been characters I've fallen in love with and lived with them in books but not so much on television. Loving a show is another thing and loving characters is another. So much so that it resonates within you, and you take something with you from the character once it all ends.

Very few people are fortunate enough to be able to play 3 different characters with the same production house, in the same show and pull it all off very convincingly.

The first Mohan Bhatnagar that we all began to love was someone who we could call a boy next door persona. Someone who was utterly carefree, extremely passionate and had his own set of rules that he went by. He wore his heart on his sleeve yet maintained a safe distance from people he knew would end up breaking him just a little more from the inside. Or those who had a chance or way to peep inside the vulnerable man he was. A little boy in a mans body. Though he did lose hope at certain turns of his life then, he always maintained this positive energy in himself. He was a sun and a rainbow for people around him.

Then came the older Bhatnagar, who was a much maturer version of the earlier Mohan. He was responsible, he didnt have time to loaft around. His spark of energy was left behind. Yet he was still the same Mohan we all loved. A wise man with a heart of gold. Passionate for his family, and wise and responsible for the entire world.

And then came Vasu, almost the opposite of Mohan Bhatnagar. He has no sense of right or wrong. He just knows how to keep his dear ones happy. At any cost. He is arrogant, and angry. Yet, he has that tiny bit of Mohan Bhatnagar in him.

These three characters are variations of the same person. And they have been acted out extremely well, very convincingly. That these characters have started resonating within you. Like you know them personally. Like you've been with them, sat and had a conversation with them.

There was much more that I had to say. But my brain works faster than I type :P and I lose track of thought.
So I might come back and add on. And conclude this.

Till then, I hope you all had something to ponder over.

Love,
Me

Lovely write up!!

Totally agree with you. Kunal has got this rare and wonderful opportunity to portray 3 diff characters in the same show over a period of just 1.5 years.

Mohan of S1 was very diff from Mohan of S2 as you said and they both seemed like two diff characters all together

And now Vasu of course is a totally diff character - poles apart from Mohans of both seasons!

The way Kunal has effortlessly transformed himself into a gangster/don in no time is seriously commendable. His body language , his dialect, his emoting as Vasu is just flawless.

Hats off to this wonderful actor who breathes life into every character he plays and makes it convincing for us.

Its a privilege to watch him act. Whenever this show goes off air...i will miss seeing him showcasing his brilliances on my TV screen the MOST...till of course we see him in another project.

Hence I am gonna cherish this time left and hope that the story/script writers do him and this story complete justice!

Ssn2wala mohan sab galati apne sar leta tha
Ssn1 wala mohan galati karta tha aur sorry bhi bolta tha agar saamnewala maaf nai karta toh bhaadme jao kehta,

beautifully written...
n agree wid u completely...
kunal is one of dose few actors who r so versatile n can play any type of character wid atmost convinction n sincererity...n im very very lucky to be a fan of his n witness his immense talent...
right frm ssn 1...he has impressed everyone in watever he has done...n has really changed d myth dat tv actors cant act n emote...he's here for serious business for sure n not for just looking good...
each n every character dat he has played touches our heart everytime...so much dat we can relate to him in our own way...whether it was d character of bindass carefree n boy next door mohan in ssn 1...d character of much mature sincere patient n doting father in ssn 2...or now d completely opposite character of rowdy n arrogant vasu...each n every role has been enacted beautifully by kunal...n hats off to him for switching on frm a sophisticated mohan to cruel n ruthless vasu in just a few days time...dats really commendable...
obviously im not liking d current track at all...but im already loving vasu's character a lot...kunal has brought d right amount of style n sophistication in vasu's cold n ruthless character also...which is making everyone love dis character also...
n he's d only reason im still hanging on wid d show even after so much disappointments...
i really love him a lot n im proud to be his fan...!!!
luv u kkk...god bless u...!!!!
