CHAPTER : 2 :
Sailing parallel to the Tropic of Cancer was an epic experience. Any direction u looked ... there was just the plain blue sea ; water , water ; everywhere! Serene , soothing ... comforting ; or as Uday put it : Hydro-therapy!
The waves gently rocked the yacht , as the occupants lay fast asleep inside. After their 10-day stay at the Bahamas , it was off to Casablanca - Morocco . But the journey from 1 destination to the next, would be their longest yet at sea ... 50 hours to be precise.
The rays of the morning sun , pierced through the porthole windows of Manveer's cabin; thus waking Uday. The upper part of Manyata's body was draped over Uday and he couldn't help but smile , remembering last night. He moved her hair from her face and kissed her fore-head ... You're glowing Princess , u can deny it all you want ; but I can tell - YOU ARE PREGNANT! Mmm , she groaned in her sleep and tugged on the comforter , hoping to fit in a few more winks of sleep.
After showering , Uday peeped in on his other favourite girl ; Udita was awake and entertaining herself with her favourite pass-time ... TRYING TO GET HER BIG-TOE INO HER MOUTH! Uday laughed at her : Sweety-pie ... why can't u be like other babies and suck on your thumb ; instead of your toe? She answered him with a wide grin.
Uday took the child to the deck and both watched the scenic views , that surrounded them. Udita fussed to be put down. From the time , the 7 month old started crawling ... the floor was much more preferable to her ; than her parents arms. As soon as he put her down , she moved at lightning-fast speed and Uday had to move just as fast to block any way that would cause her to slide off, into the ocean. Gotta get a leash on her , Uday thought out loud.
Don't u dare! , came a commanding voice from behind. Manyata stood , dressed in only a white-sheet ; giving Uday 1 of her sternest looks. I wasn't really going to do it Princess , he defended. Udita crawled to her mother and raised her arms ... waiting to be carried and fed.
Where are u going? To the cabin , to feed Baby! Do it here! Out in the open? Princess - look around you ... besides US ; there's NOT A SOUL around! Besides , it's so warm up here and the breeze is salty yet crisp ... so refreshing. Okay , Mr Weatherman ... I'll feed her here ... IF YOUR WIFE'S TOPLESS PHOTOS GET PUBLISHED - THEN YOU ANSWER FOR THAT! Nobody would DARE! , he smirked.
He sat just behind Manyata and back-hugged her in such a way that his unbuttoned shirt , covered her upper-frontage. This is the life , hey Princess ... just the 4 of us ; in the middle of nowhere! 3 of us Uday , she corrected. He placed his hand on her stomach ... 4 , Princess! Uday , I'm NOT pregnant! I think you are! The first thing we do once we get to Morocco , is take you to a doctor ... then she can tell us WHAT I ALREADY KNOW! She rolled her eyes and shook her head at him.
Indeed , as Uday said ; the first thing they did on docking in Casablanca was ... get Manyata tested. The result was somewhat peculiar ... Mrs Singh , your pregnancy test reveals that you're NOT pregnant , but from your husband's explanation about your eating habits and the fact that you had 2 bouts of morning-sickness ... it's clear that YOU ARE WITH CHILD!
But the test was negative doctor , then how? , Manyata questioned. Do U know what's more advanced than SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY? , the doctor asked the couple and both shook their heads in a "NO". The answer is THE HUMAN BODY! Oh , so U mean ... that it's TOO EARLY for any scans or tests to show the pregnancy, but her BODY is already giving us the signs! , Uday stated excitedly , while Manyata gave him an angry glare. Yes , EXACTLY Mr Singh. As soon as the egg got fertilized ... her body began giving off the symptoms. Manyata was still not convinced. It's true Mrs Singh ; it's a very rare occurrence ; but 1 out of 600 000 woman get pregnancy symptoms - the moment fertilisation has taken place.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Singh , you'll are becoming parents once more. She held Udita's hand ... and you , little one - are not going to be "the little one" any more ... you are going to be a big sister. Manveer thanked the doctor and left. Manyata was still in a daze and Uday was floating on cloud 9.
Uday - I don't believe it , she eventually said. Believe it Princess ... you are 2 weeks pregnant and we are having a baby! She hugged him tightly , as the words sunk in ... I'm going to have a baby. My Baby Boy , she massaged her belly. See Baccha , your mamma is already discriminating , Uday told Udita , who had no clue as to why her parents were in such a celebratory mood. Uday wrapped his arm around Manyata's waist and gave her a slight pinch : 2 down , 8 to go ... right Princess? In your dreams Uday!
Uday offered to cut the trip short and sail directly to India hereafter , but Manyata was adamant about visiting those exotic locations , she had only seen in magazines. Are u sure Princess? Yes Uday , very sure. Once we get back to India ... it'll be back to work for us, then the baby's arrival ... we'll never get a chance to do another cruise like this!
After 2 weeks of sight-seeing in Morocco , it was off to Spain. Uday had to cancel his entire itinery of Spain, because Manyata only wanted to visit Madrid. She was awe-struck when she visited PALACIO REAL , the Royal Palace of Madrid ... which is the official residence of the King of Spain. I wish I could stay here Uday , she said in a dreamy manner. Their initial plan of staying 2 weeks , eventually became 3 as Manyata wanted to meet David Beckham and Christiano Ronaldo who played soccer for Real Madrid. Princess - why are u so worried about those 2 , when u have Prince Charming ; right in front of you , Uday flashed his smirk , while Manyata rolled her eyes. At least 1 out of the 2 , please Uday ... I know ONLY YOU can make it happen , she fluttered her eye-lashes at him.
As much as Uday tried to make Manyata's dream come true ... he couldn't! David Beckham had long stopped playing for Madrid and was well settled with his family in Los Angeles and Ronaldo was out of the country, on a photo-shoot for Calvin Klein. Sorry Princess ... maybe some other time. She kissed him on the cheek appreciatively , for the effort he put in.
After their time in Spain ... it was off to France. Paris is just so romantic Uday , Manyata gushed after visiting the capital. How long are we going to be here? 20 days Princess ... we'll leave for Italy on the morning of 26th May , Uday answered to the utter disappointment of Manyata. I kinda hoped ... Hoped what? That we'd spend the 27th on the Eiffel Tower. Why? What's happening on the 27th? , Uday asked ; trying to figure out the importance of the date. NOTHING! , she stomped her foot and left him alone.
As planned , the family left France on the 26th and docked in Italy that same night. Manyata sulked for the rest of the next day ... a bit disheartened ; and immensely furious that Uday didn't remember the significance of the day. It was nearing evening and Uday took Manyata and the baby on a gondola and rowed them through the canals of Venice ... stopping off at a beautiful restaurant. The place was empty as Uday booked the entire venue for the occasion . Happy anniversary Princess , he whispered in her ear. Manyata gave him the widest smile. Did u think I'd forget THIS day? , he nudged her ; It was the happiest day of my life when MY PRINCESS became MY WIFE!
27th May 2012 was the day Manveer married (originally) because of a contract signed by Giriraj and DS. And THIS was their 2 year marriage anniversary. Candle-light dinner accompanied with non-alcoholic champagne was the order of the night. Soft, romantic music played as the couple slow-danced very closely with each-other. Their 9-month-old daughter was in Dreamland as it was way past her bed-time. Uday gave Manyata a pretty gold-chain with a diamond encrusted locket. She opened the locket to find a picture of Udita on 1 side , while the other side remained empty. When VIRAAT comes ... we'll add his picture! , he whispered. Manyata's eyes filled with tears of happiness ... U named our son VIRAAT ... I love it Uday ... I love YOU! The rest of the night was spent "lovingly" in each others arms.
Come on Bacha ... it's not that difficult .. please say "PAAPA"! , Uday urged Udita while Manyata just laughed. Princess - she's 9 months ; shouldn't she be talking? I mean she started crawling at 7 , but still she says LO , FI , SO , LI , POP! I don't know Uday , she's MY first ALSO ... let it happen , when it happens! I'm also dying to hear her call me "MAMMA". Well , you just have to wait - her first word will be "PAAPA!" We'll see!
Italy was humungous and there was too much to cram into the 3 weeks , that Manveer planned on being there. They visited POMPEII , PIAZZA del CAMPO , LAKE COMO ... and THE LEANING TOWER OF PISA . Manyata was very disappointed after seeing the land-mark ... she was certain , it had something to do with pizza. The trip ended with a small tour of Rome. First it was the COLOSSEUM , which is the largest amphitheatre in Rome and then it was the VATICAN , which was the most serene , most tranquil ... almost heaven-like place ; in the world!
Next it was off to Greece - for another 20 days. MYKONOS was top of the agenda. It was a picture-perfect town, comprising of tiny streets and white-washed homes. Uday - I want to live here! Princess - you've said that in every country we've been to , he said , putting a damper on her wish. Then it was off to PARTHENON-ACROPOLIS ... which served as a temple , church , mosque and fortress; all-in-one! Lastly they went to SANTORINI , also known as the VOLCANIC ISLAND, because of it's very own active volcano. But the high-light of being in Greece was ... Udita told her first word - not the usual "MAMMA" or even "PAAPA" ... but - MAAPAA! The girl was a born-Royal and politics was in her blood ; so much so , that her first word was a combination of both parents names, instead of giving 1 preference over the other. Manveer was thrilled and filmed her calling out to them and even mailed it to the relatives back home.
Manveer docked in Turkey next. The stayed at the CLUB MED BELEK , a resort that was fit for Royalty. The place was as huge as a continent and gave new meaning to the word "LUXURY" . Manyata became very well acquainted with the in-house chef ; who had to bear the pregnant Princess's , very weird , late-night cravings. The Turkish staple - APPLE TEA , became a firm favourite among the couple ; Manyata even found it to be a cure for her morning-sickness.
Shopping in the Grand Bazaar , in Istanbul ; almost left Uday bankrupt as Manyata "HAD TO HAVE" everything , that her eyes fell on. Please Uday , she'd blink her eye-lashes at him and the next moment - he'd be signing a cheque!
On the last day , they visited THE BLUE MOSQUE ... a name given because of the 20 000 blue ceramic tiles that adorned the inside walls and 200 large blue-stained glass windows; and a dome that was decorated with the verses of the Qur'an. The shrine gave peace to whoever visited , and Manveer felt it too!
Passing through the SUEZ-CANAL , they reached Egypt ... but not for a very long stay. 10 days is enough to see the Pyramids , Uday told and Manyata agreed as she was very uncomfortable in the Egyptian climate. Udita was formulating words successfully and her parents were understanding her language too. Mamma , mum-mum , she'd say and hit Manyata on her chest ... indicating that she was hungry. Princess , mum-mum , Uday would tease - only to get an elbow in his stomach.
On leaving Egypt ... there was trouble approaching. Getting into the RED-SEA was always going to be a risk ... but there was NO OTHER ROUTE! Passing countries like Sudan , Ethiopia , Yemen - meant encountering vermin of the worst kind. Through his binoculars ; Uday saw them : SHIT! PIRATES!!!!!!!!

Honestly you never bore us with your updates... you have made till book 4 with so many chapters... but still your each updates has freshness to it...Your story is like iam reading a romantic novel with all the spice required... instead of getting bore which usually people do ...i keep falling more and more in love with this beautiful story... 😭(khushi ke aanso)But my personal favourite was chapter one of this book... i loved how you showed uday worrying about manyata... over reacting when she left without informing him... He was not wrong in his place because he dont want to loose his family again... i loved it❤️Ahhh , I'm so glad😃.funny part was when manyata called giriraj to make his son understand to behave to her properly... lol it was very cute move of her... She does have some brains😆.And the last and the most beautiful thing was manyata over eating😆 due to a great reason😉 i hope she is pregnant with baby boy... now its time for manveer boy after royal baby boy... it will be party time for us🥳 Don't celebrate just yet Sarah ... there's something HUGE coming later on (Which will not be a happy time at all😭)
