If you watch the episodes from the begining u l fall in love with the show once again. Madhav's introduction was like a bulls eye. everything about his character was clear with the very first introduction. same goes with aradhya's character. Madhav-Rahul friendship was one of a kind -- far away from any jealousy or ill feelings for each other. there was no negativity in the show (even till the end). Bharti was a grey character but not out right negative. reasons for her ruthlessness was explained in the show when she reminds her MIL of the rude behavior she subjected her to because she was not good looking.
everything about the show was beautiful.
as far as the groom swapping is concerned then i would like to say that this is not the first show which showed something like this. however i would also mention here that this swapping as a way of getting MaYa together could have been used in a later stage and before that we could have more of MaYa moments.

secondly dadi's plan... the makers in a haste to change the story completed turned over the character of Anisha. initially Anisha was supposed to be Ehsaas's fan but eventually she was shown to be part of dadi's plan because the makers were in a haste to progress the story. even the girl playing the character was in a shock.

TRPs are th biggest culprit. there have been many shows which are beautifuly written but lack ratings and therefore suffer. they pay the price of not being able to garner enough trps whereas there are shows that are running endlessly without any story. it feels sad when a good show is axed.
i have always believed that a story with a fixed story line is much better than running behind numbers. TRP's ruin the very essence of entertainment, feelings of the fans as well as the essence of story telling. it's more about economy than about emotions and building relation with the audience.

khubsoorat too fell prey too trp game and thus the makers came up with a stupid twist which did not help them at all.

as far as the counter message u stated. TRUE. show lost its essence the day madhav died.

there were many aspects left untouched.
m missing watching Rohit NOW...

Thanks for viewing & commenting, Neha!

I totally agree with your analyses of the various characters. The only reason I chose not to make this post character-centric was because I felt there was a dire need for someone to analyse where the show lost track and why it couldnt prove effectively the concept it had started out with.

Also, I didnt want anyone to view the post as biased or focussing on one aspect only. Hence, I preferred calling it an 'epilogue' - something that looks at how successfully the project that was initiated in the 'preface' has been executed. I didnt want to call it a 'tribute' or 'conclusion' because that would have required, as you have rightly pointed, a discussion of the positive aspects of different characters. Given the fact that the show was ending in less than six months, I felt there was a need to focus on what led to the decline and downfall instead of looking at the positive aspects that sustained it.

I did state in the beginning that I was only mounting a 'soft & sad-toned critique' of the functioning of the show, rather than a vitriolic attack. It was meant to be 'soft' because I didnt want to vitiate the atmosphere of the forum as the show drew to a close. It was meant to be 'sad-toned' because I, as a viewer, would have liked the show to have proven the point about the 'unimportance of physical attributes in a relationship' more convincingly and strongly rather than end on a note that reinforces existing stereotypes about looks and complexions.

Due to these points, I was expecting the post to be a little unpopular because it was more about drawbacks, fallacies and criticism than a positive view of things.

But, I want to reiterate that I didnot write this with an intention of overlooking or understating any actor's contribution to the show. I would never want to do that to anyone. I just wanted to make the post a concept-centric one as the show was drawing to a close. I didnt include elements of nostalgia because I wanted the post to be a thought-provoking one that could lead the reader/viewer to analyse for himself how the concept was handled from the beginning till the end. Also, I may have appeared selective in choosing the plots/tracks I analysed in the post, but let me assure you that I didnt want to hurt any fan's sentiments or loyalties through this selection. As I stated previously, the post was a result of the multiple feedback I received through my posts/polls coupled with my analysis. There could have been many other tracks that I could have analysed, but given the paucity of space, I chose to highlight only those that seemed most problematic to the viewers/members of this forum. Let me assure you, I didnt want to undermine any character's contribution or positive impact.

Thanks a lot!

@Abhishek:

Don't worry. none of your posts have ever pointed out on a particular actor or track neither have they ever tried to attack on a particular actor. ur posts are always rational that's why it's a pleasure reading them. u are clear with ur points and come across in a vivid manner.
