Chapter#5

~Arnav's Flashback~

He looked at her retreating back. He felt... pain. Which he wasn't supposed to. Why was he feeling this? He had done it so she wouldn't get hurt any further. It was better he told her himself. But she had gotten hurt, somehow. Arnav just knew it.

He had promised Sheetal that he'd go to her as soon as he told Khushi that this was it, they were breaking up. But as Khushi had left, he just looked at her back and then as he couldn't see her any further he sat down by the pier and thought about what had happened.

She was going forever. It was suppose to feel good. But the satisfaction wasn't there. He felt uncertain, uncomfortable, as if something was pricking his heart. What has he done? As his thoughts proceeded, minutes had turned into hours. And he couldn't bring himself to a solution. He got up from the pier and starting walking towards his car.

He was about to get inside when something shiny by the car wheel caught his attention and he bent down to pick it up. It was a red shiny wrapping paper with a black bow and a note on it saying - To Arnav, from Khushi.

He felt guilty again. He hadn't gotten her anything but she just... He closed his eyes and he opened the car door to sit inside. As he sat inside, he left the door open.

It was a wrist watch and a picture of them with a paper folded neatly. He looked at the picture where he was kissing Khushi on the cheek and Khushi's eyes were as wide as ever. He smiled seeing her reaction in the picture and put the picture aside to read the note that was attached to it.

Dear Arnav,

First of all, Happy Valentines Day. I love you a lot...And I hope you like the gift. There is something big that I wanted you to know, but I wouldn't know how to say it. It's just that my father, he had gotten a job offer in London so he has accepted it. But now we all have to shift there... permanently. I'm leaving in a few weeks, maybe a few days. I'm not sure. But now what really scares me is leaving you, I don't want to. I've grown so fond of you and... I don't know how to describe it. Will you leave me if I go away? Or will we be still together? Whatever it will be, I just want you to know that I love you and there will be no one after you. I can't look at any other guy. I've always loved you and I'll love you forever and ever.

Arnav had felt so bad after reading the letter. He wanted to go to her and hug her. But he couldn't bring himself to be even near her house. He had driven on the lonely roads of Delhi until midnight. When he had switched his phone on he had received many missed calls by Sheetal but he just didn't want to call her back.

Arnav had read the letter again and again that very night. But the same night Arnav's parents had had a fight. Arnav's mother had got to know about the affair that his father was having and due to that fight Arnav's mother had committed a suicide and his father had done the same.

Arnav's brother Aryaan was the same age as Arnav. He was never fond of his father so he had always been with his Nani, who lived in Lucknow but right after the tragic incident Aryaan and Nani had shifted to Delhi along with the other members of the family. When Aryaan was asked to work along Arnav, he had denied to help him and later had been sent abroad for studies. The reason was simple; both the brothers had just never gotten along.

After that Arnav had to pass through many hurdles and had a difficult time as just at the age of 18 he had struggled with his studies as well as his fathers business. He had revived the business with his own name and had made it reach the top within two years. By the age of 20 Arnav was the youngest business man in India.

But in between his bad days, he tried hard to forget Khushi and get along with Sheetal. But Sheetal wasn't as understanding as Khushi. Khushi had understood everything, even before he could say it. His dreams, his wants, his dislikes, Khushi had known all. She understood his problems, his mood swings and wouldn't even complain. But in between all this he couldn't understand her. He didn't try to know her.

He had left Sheetal just a few months after Khushi had left. Khushi's little note had always been with him. He somehow found peace within the letter. He always kept the letter in his pocket and whenever he had gotten time he read it again and again. Because he knew with the letter he had a little part of Khushi with him, always.

He wanted to contact her somehow but he just couldn't find a way. He had tried her facebook, her phone, her e-mails but nothing worked. He had insisted Lavanya and Payal to give him some information but they wouldn't tell him anything. And then one day when he was so desperate on knowing about Khushi, Lavanya had told him off by saying that she had moved on from him. Although Lavanya was lying, Arnav had believed her.

After that Arnav had never asked about Khushi, he had never asked about her whereabouts. But 6 months after that when he had met with all his friends i.e. Lavanya, Payal, Nk and his cousin Akash he had been invited to Lavanya's wedding. Arnav had instantly denied, saying that he was busy but then when Lavanya had mentioned about Khushi, Arnav had immediately agreed on coming.

Because he wanted to win her back even if she had moved on.

Arnav's flashback wasn't easy at all. *Sigh* I just couldn't... and this isn't by best. ._. Plus, I don't know what I've written. I had almost forgotten to mention Aryaan so I went all the way up to read it and then edited it. Also if you have any confusion then I'm just a scrap away dolls! I'm confused too and I think I've missed some things. :/ let me know if I did dolls!
