I agree. Also, most of the times we see that the themes are already integrated into most performances. The theme of being on wheels etc seemed more defined. Bollywood is a dance form that most of the contestants do and the costume and make up already plays an important part in JDJ. The item songs will be no different from Bollywood as they are a part of it.

I feel some of them thought the constumes had to be dramatic not the dance

Nautanki has such a negative connotion nowadays. People associate awaragardi with nautanki nowadays b/c of the creative liberals peope have taken with it...but it's roots are not like that at all. It's basic premise it to tell a story and that too with expressions.

Nowadays, everything is all lumped together.
