Arakshi FF : The Purgatory Masquerade

Chapter : Ocho (b)

"Specky!!!" Liza came, running to him. She was drenched, from head to toe.
"Eeew! Stay away from my babies." Shree stopped her before she could wet his equipments. "What the hell happened to you?"
"Come with me right now!" Liza huffed, tagging on his arms. "Yo hold up.. I ain't gonna help you change your clothes lady." Shree joked.
One glare from Liza and he knew something bad had happened..again. Something was definitely wrong with that day.
"Bhogoban, rokkha korio." Shree prayed. (translation: Bhagwan, raksha karna😆.)
They rushed to the lab and Shree cursed. It was a mess! A total mess.
Someone had set the fire alarm and the room looked like a flood had washed of it's everything.
"How the bloody hell did it happen?" Shree asked, walking past people who was trying to resurrect the place.
"No idea. I was working on the blood sample and suddenly, our computers died, plugs got sparked then there's fire, setting of the fire alarm."Weird.
"Oh sh*t." Shree cursed. "Are you alright?" he asked, concerned.
Liza frowned and then nodded. "I need you to check the system. The vigilante blood I was working on, washed away thanks to the water. But I had already input the data." Said Liza, leading Shree to her desktop. Thank Shree, he had made it waterproof.
Shree fired up the computer while Liza stood beside him. Thank Goodness, the data was still intact.
"Pheew!" Liza sighed. "Check toh karo blood sample kisike saath match hota bhi hai ya nehi." Shree said. "Nehi specky..you do the honors." Liza gave him a naughty smiled at which Shree rolled his eyes.
They waited patiently while the system looked for a match.At last, it found a match.
"What the f..." Liza cursed. Shree was too shocked to say something.
The blood sample belonged to a tiger.😉"You gotta be kidding me!" Shree finally whispered.

"Chotu, drop her home." Came his voice.
Heh! She looked at him confused. But he avoided her gaze and walked towards what looked like a pantry. On his way, he took his phone from the table and switched on the device.
Saakshi stared at his retreating back. Ain't he a man of surprises?
"Miss Anand." Chotu's voice jerked her back to reality. She looked at him who was also looking at his boss.. but he wasn't looking confused.. or puzzled.
Saakshi silently gathered her belongings while Arjun checked his phone. Not being able to control anymore, Saakshi heard herself asking, "Why are you letting me go?"Arjun stiffened but didn't turn back. He closed his eyes and "I trust you." came out before he could stop himself.
He mentally smacked himself and then wondered why did he say it in the first place. Why this sudden trust.. this pull towards this girl he barely knew. Not wanting to think farther, he focused on the missed calls and voicemails he'd received. Work related.
Saakshi felt like she couldn't breathe.. like something had filtered out the oxygen from the air she was breathing.. maybe it was the intensity he had delivered.
She shamelessly stared at his back..mentally begging him to look at her. Why? She didn't even know herself. And as if to punish her, he didn't turn back.
Not even when she was almost walking out. He was on a call with someone.. talking in a low and soft voice. Saakshi found herself trying to listen to him..But no luck.
She sighed and put on her coat, ready to walk out without saying a Goodbye.
Well he didn't so why should she?
"Chotu, put on a local news channel." Suddenly his brittle voice broke through the bitter silent. Saakshi stopped while Chotu turned on the tv.
Reports from last evenings events flashed.. making Saakshi cringe. At least 12 people were killed with many still missing. And worse, there's been a high profile kidnapping case too. This was bad. Really bad.
Chotu cursed out loud and Saakshi clamped a hand on her mouth to ebb her gasp.
"Renowned capitalist Mrs Mahima Rawte ki apaharan." The reported said.. none of them listened to what the reporter said afterwards but stared at her picture, horrified.Arjun ran his finger through his hair and cursed in an inaudible voice. He dialed a number and waited for the other person to pick up the Goddamn phone.
Saakshi stared at Mrs Rawte's photo and felt dizzy as the reality started to sink in. That is why there's this massacrre..it was nothing but a distraction.
Whoever did this..the main motive was to kidnap Mrs Rawte. But why is the question.Well, of course being a 40 years old successful business woman and being the legally wedded wife of Suryakant Rawte, one of the leading businessmen of mankind; you are bound to have a line of enemies standing on your doorway.
And a city like this? It'll be a wonder if you do not.
Saakshi knew Mrs Rawte, atleast a little. She was nice to her and to all of the other employees. The only boss Saakshi knew about was Mrs Rawte. Hell, she never even saw Mr Suryakant Rawte who usually stayed overseas.
She always prefered to stay aloof from the gossips that went around the office. But that doesn't mean she didn't know anything. She knew Mr Rawte had a son and a teenage daughter. Saakshi had personally met the daughter, Sanjana Rawte who needed a little help with her computer. Thus landed on her cabin with her mother. She was sweet, Saakshi immediately liked her.
Mystery was Mr Rawte's older son. Rumors had it, Mr Rawte and his son were not in good terms. And the son had actually left his family.
Like who leaves their family? Stupid, that's what he was to her. Knowing the pain of not having a family, Saakshi couldn't stand the fact that someone would leave their family behind.. and moreover, leaving a happy family behind.
They loved him.. they whole company belonged to him in a way, even though he never shows up. AR was his initials.
She wondered where he might be now.
Saakshi stared at the men; both of them were furiously typing something on their phone.. maybe trying to call someone. Saakshi walked towards the tv and watched the headlines again.
"She's my boss." She found herself saying..rather stating.
"She is Arjun sir's mother." Chotu said, looking at Arjun.
"Step-mother." Arjun replied in a cold tone, still looking at his phone.
"hmmm." Saakshi hummed..and the next moment she yelped. "Wait...What?"
Both Chotu and Arjun looked at her as if she had lost her mind. Well, which was partially true.
"What?" Arjun asked, crocking his brow up."Your mother?" He corrected her, "Step-mother.""But how can.. " Saakshi murmured, trying to join the dots. "you.. you are the long lost son?" She asked.
Arjun snickered..and just gave a small nod, returning to his phone.
"But aisa kaise ho sakta hai? You are an ACP. Aur Unka naam toh A se shuru hota hoga. Aur tumhara naam..." And she stopped, looking at his expression. "A..a..arjun R..r..awte." She stammered.
"AR" she finished, stricken. Am I allowed to faint? Her subconscious asked. No, not yet. Saakshi warned herself.
Saakshi turned to Chotu and said..rather begged, "Don't tell me he's my boss."
Chotu chuckled and said, "Actually he's your boss's boss's boss."
What about now? Her subconscious begged. You may faint now. Saakshi gave a thumps up to her as she slumped on a chair.
This couldn't just get anymore better. Could it?

Oh no,arjun mom is deadKidnap,and arjun is not affected by that,okay i know its his step mother,but phir bhi...sakshi seems more affected,poor girl..sakshi and stammering i could imagine that...>>

Well Tahi bahuria, I finally caught up on the last four parts and always fantastic, wonderful, mindblowing.

You solve one mystery and and then throw us right into another.

BTW @8B, what kind of Arakshi dose was that? And I know that aint Sakshi saying "I love you Arjun" in precap

Anyhow, I loved all four parts and want more, I demand more. So jaldi, jaldi update, please.😆

BTW, you promised me something else like two weeks ago, and I am still waiting for it.😕
