It wasn't desire, it wasn't solicitation - it was pure temptation. A temptation so insidious that could ravage everything they had ever worked for but they didn't care.
They walked on a knife's edge, played with fire - but they didn't care.
At that time the only thing that ever existed in their lives was the other.
They had woven a world that was too fragile - they themselves being the biggest threat to it but they believed it would work out.
It ought to - they just knew no matter what. It was like their life dependent on it.

He had worked hard to get it all in the world. He was in a position that a simple slip could ruin him and he was well aware of it. The world was at his foot - he ruled it.
But for him this was his weakness - the only drug that kept him alive it seemed so. He was ready to risk everything if it boiled down to it but just couldn't abandon everything for it - moreover he didn't want to.

She was at a place where every woman envied to be. She had it all - nobody would ever think of anything else at her place.
Yet she ventured into a place which could completely shatter the castle she had built for herself. She knew it but still she walked on the path knowing very well that if anything happened it would blow up on her face itself but it was the mortal need for her and she just couldn't leave it.
**
The thing they shared was a walking time bomb threatening to blow any moment. But they still carried it not caring about anything else except for themselves. They wanted it all lest they just couldn't have it. They made it work and they were determined to make it work at any cost.
But the castle they had built did fall apart - however it wasn't strong enough to waver them apart. They continued marching ahead and the trench began to darken at every step - casualties becoming higher every passing moment. The stakes becoming higher - their worlds threatening to spill apart but they never opted for the obvious remedy. Instead they took a path which could jeopardize everything in a flash.
But they didn't care.
