Zalak Thakkar replaces Neha Devi Singh as Bhumika in Saarthi

Neha Devi Singh aka Bhumika in Saarthi is leaving the show. The actress is tired of playing the character for the last three years and decided to quit. Says Neha, "I had been desperately looking for a break. I had been telling this to the production house for the last few months. I have been working continuously since the show's inception and never had enough time to spend with my family. So, the production house has decided to bring in a twist in the tale where I won't be required anymore."

Is it because of the falling TRPs? "I like to give my best shot to whatever I do. I think, Saarthi is a popular show in the afternoon slot and also garners good TRPs. It is just that I started feeling stagnated since the last few months and decided to quit."

Sachin Mohite, creative head of the show said, "Neha wanted a break, but we could not give her leave because she is one of the main protagonist in the show. So, now Neha will be meeting with an accident in the show, which will be followed by a plastic surgery sequence and entry of the new Bhumika."

Zalak Thakkar, who will be replacing Neha in Saarthi, says, "I am really excited to join in as the new Bhumika. It is an important role and I hope I can do justice to the character."
