I couldn't help but giggle when I saw the part in today's episode where Raavan gave Kaushalya the yellow flower and told her "Devi, yeh pushp lijiye. Iski sugandh aapko mohit kar degi". ๐
Obviously, he was telling her that the smell of that flower would fascinate her, and NOT that it would make her become a person called Mohit, but I still couldn't help laughing, thinking "Raavan knows Mohit, does he?!" ๐ ๐
(This is what happens to me when we have an actor in the show whose name has this type of meaning and the word ends up being part of a dialogue! And you guys know by now that I love a good laugh, and think of a lot of weird connections! I'm strange - I know! ๐ ๐)
Now, obviously Raavan does not know Mohit Raina, but Mohit himself does actually have a previous Raavan connection that I don't think has been mentioned here before, so I thought I'd share it.
Now here is the Mohit-Raavan connection.
In 2006, Zee TV had a show called Raavan, which showed the events of the Ramayan from Raavan's point of view. The character of Raavan was played by the actor Narendra Jha.
In 2009, Mohit was the male lead of Star Plus's thriller show Chehra. His character's name was Garv, and Garv's elder brother Karan was played by Narendra Jha! (They were both shady characters - you were often wondering if they were good or bad, until things were revealed!)
So in Chehra we had an actor already known for playing the famous Shiv-bhakt Raavan starring as the brother of the actor who in a few years time would become famous for playing Lord Shiv! Who would have imagined that at the time! ๐
And in keeping with the Ramayan theme, Mohit and Narendra were once described as actually being like the "Ram and Lakshman of the modern era". โญ๏ธ
Here is an article about them from 2009 (which I found in the Chehra forum):
_____________
Ever since Garv (Mohit Raina) started shooting with his onscreen brother Karan (Narendra Jha) in the romantic thriller Chehra on Star Plus, life has taken him to a totally different hemisphere. As onscreen brothers they seek support from each other and stand by each other in times of need. This onscreen chemistry has now transcended into real life as well. The bond is so strong that they can be truly termed as Ram and Laxman of the modern era!
Mohit calls Narendra Jha Bade Bhaiya and he respects him as an elder brother. He always goes up to him first and hugs him, shares all his daily updates with regards to his acting skills and his family news. He also takes tips on what to wear and also seeks advice from him to attain a toned look like Narendra Jha.
Narendra Jha too is fond of Mohit, "Mohit and I share a totally different relationship with each other. I remember the first day of the shoot when we met and after the first shot was over he hugged me and said that he saw me as a real brother which really touched me. And since then we take each other as real brothers. I pray to God that Mohit does well in his career and becomes successful."
At the time when all one hears of is rivalry between actors these two sure set a good example.
