10th August 1991 was a big day in the life of the Jamshedpur, Jharkhand based business man Shri Shankar Banerjee as his social worker wife Smt Soma Banerjee brought to this world, a little angel, their only daughter,

PRATYUSHA BANERJEE

Born and brought up in a Bengali family, Pratyusha was always interested in theater and acting.A trained singer, she always dreamt to make it big in the entertainment industry. According to mother Soma Banerjee, she had a knack for acting since childhood. "She used to say she would be the 'No. 1 actress' one day. Friends and relatives had little doubt given the way she carried herself," said her doting mother. It was in her 12th standard that she did a Kalidas play in her school which happened to be her first step towards acting.Later she was shortlisted to play an important role in a television soap, Rakta Samman, which, unfortunately, did not take off in her favor. It was then that Balika Vadhu happened and since then it was no looking back!

Switch to July 2010, the whole country sat with a bated breath to see the first look of their 'new' Anandi.While some were depressed with the child genius Avika quiting the show,others were excited for a glimpse of the the new girl.It was then that the announcement of the sixteen-year-old Jameshdpur girl being chosen as the Adult Anandi hit the market. Pratyusha beat two other finalists, Lucknow's Nivedita Tiwari and Mumbai's Ketaki Chitale in a nation wide television poll, to replace young Anandi Avika Gor - And the rest is history!

Pratyusha played the role of grown up Anandi in Sphere Origin's Balika Vadhu on Colors.She entered the show in july 2010 when the show took a leap of five years and both Jagiya and Anandi entered their teenage.Though initially it was feared if Pratyusha will be able to win over the audiences just like the former Anandi Avika or not but it hardly took Pratyusha much time to woo the audiences.After the initial hiccup, the show returned to record-breaking trps and audience's love for Pratyusha pouring from all over the world including countries like Australia and Serbia.

Playing Anandi was not a cakewalk for Pratyusha.She was no next door girl.It took her a lot to understand the layers and intricacies of Anandi - the innocent bubbly girl subjected to the evil of child marriage and doomed to be a rejected abandoned wife.Pratyusha proved her acting prowess with her convincing portrayal of a battered wife of Jagdeesh Bhairon Singh. From the heart-wrenching potrayal of a shattered rejected wife to an independent strong headed Sarpanch, Pratyusha breathed life into Anandi and made the character her own.

Despite of Anandi and Jagiya being a doomed couple, Pratyusha managed to create some sizzling chemistry with her co-star Shashank Vyas and ended up winning the "Best Jodi Award" with him.Moreover, year after year she was felicitated with numerous awards and felicitations for her brilliant portrayal of different shades of Anandi.

It was in May 2012 that Pratyusha got a new co-star in Balika Vadhu,TV actor Siddharth Shukla who had been roped in to play her on-screen husband, District Collector Shivraj Shekhar. And for a record, it hardly took Pratyusha and SIddharth barely a few weeks to become one of the most saucy and envied couple of the telly town.Not just their chemistry brought in whooping trps but once again established Balika Vadhu as the No. 1 show of the Indian TV for consecutive weeks.And once again Pratyusha won the Best Jodi award, this time with Siddharth Shukla.

The week when Anandi and Shiv got engaged,Balika Vadhu managed to get a TRP of 6.7, considered to be too high for a show in the present era.

Later Pratyusha's association with Balika Vadhu came to an unnatural end on 27th feb 2013.Shocking the whole nation, Pratyusha and Anandi separated leaving a sour taste in the mouth of the audiences.How and why this association came to an end is still a secret unraveled.Though it was touted that it was a mutual separation, much is speculated to have happened behind the curtains. And her fans still wait with a bated breath to see their princess back on their television screens!

Not even her fans even her Balika Vadhu costars seem to be still hung onto her.Many of her costars admitted how they missed her on the sets.With her exit, Pratyusha created a void not just in the lives of her fans but also in both Balika Vadhu as well as the television industry.

Pratyusha also participated in the fifth season of the Indian dance reality show Jhalak dikhla Jaa that airs on Colors with her choreo partner Deepak.For a few weeks the two of them gave some good and entertaining performances on the floor of JDJ5.Pratyusha always ended up getting praised for her grace and beauty by the celebrated judge Madhuri Dixit Nene.But unfortunately before Pratyusha could show more magic with her dance she had to call quit as she was diagnosed with dengue and had to be hospitalized for the same.

My story is more or less known in BV forum. A phirangi from Serbia living in Spain' How I got here?

"'..I have never watched soap operas. I have never liked them. I loved and I still do other types of series like: Friends, How I met your mother, Will & Grace, Roswell, Castle, Big Bang (I love Sheldon!!!)

I moved from Serbia 3.5 years ago and I lost touch with its TV. My mom had been telling me from time to time about some Turkish and Indian series she was watching. And that Indian one was quite different than many other series she had watched before. My comment was like ein? Indian?

So the last summer while I was in Serbia, in order to spend as much time as possible with my mom I started to watch "her famous series". It was when khadoos CS entered and I still did not have much information about entire story, but what I noticed was that those 2 actors had amazing chemistry. A nice Indian dude and a beautiful Indian girl, without even touching each other were transmitting a strong emotion. Well they got my attention for sure'."

Still not knowing about the existence of this forum and its written updates in English and not being able to understand a word there was I, day by day, watching Anandi and her journey towards her new life. Although I did not have anything in common with that character I started to feel her as someone really closed to me, I cried with her and I laughed with her' Still remember one convo with my husband:

Hubby: what is happening in the show?

Me (crying voice): I have no idea, but it is something sad!

Hubby: What is she saying?

Me (crying voice): Don't know

Hubby: Then why are you crying?

Me (crying voice): I have no idea!! (blowing my nose)

In my 35 years I have never been a fan of anybody ever and I really lack experience in that field J. She was able to transmit different emotions (sometimes even only with her eyes) to someone who did not understand her a word'if that is not called the art I don't know what is!!

After discovering this forum things got easier for me'well until the end of February.. The last episode I watched was the one of 26^th of February' I still have not watched her last episode, I don't think I will ever do it' emotional fool I am 'and I am proud of it.

The last 5 months on this forum was quite interesting, mix of good and bad moments. And here we are again'gathered together to celebrate Pratyusha's bday and to share our wishes with her'My dears'it is good to see you all!

Well guys what do I say after saying so much. 😳 When I was asked if I am interested in making this thread or not, I didnt even think twice.And the entire time I made this thread I felt absolute contentment and happiness.Finally I was getting to do something for the girl who gave me my beloved Anandi. Who gave me priceless AnSh.😳 For me Anandi was not just any character...she was an inspiration...a hope! She made me smile as well as sob for her.Her wedding was a fiesta for me.Her success was a moment of pride for me.Her finding the love of her life was my bliss. Her confession was one of the most beautiful days of my telly experience.She was this close to me and my life.

And if theres any person I can credit for giving me my Anandi then its just one...Pratyusha Banerjee! I dont know what life she brought to this character that I loved her as one of my own.I became sad when she cried I felt ecstatic when she was happy...and I literally cried when she left me.And all this because Pratyusha gave Anandi a soul that no one can ever give...EVER!

Though today Pratsi is not on our TV screens but wherever she is...I would wish that on this special day god blesses her with his choisest of gifts and blessings.May all her unsaid and unknown desires be fulfilled...may all the prayers she had ever offered be answered and may all the things she had ever ever yearned for be given to her.

FOR SHE DESERVES EVERY OUNCE OF IT!

EVERY OUNCE OF HAPPINESS! BLISS! SUCCESS! FAME! AND LOVE! ❤️

And one wish for myself...may she comes back to our lives once again very soon...coz we really miss her a lott!!

Well Guys as you know the rules,we asked all the Pratyusha lovers to complete the line "I LOVE PRATYUSHA BECAUSE..." .So here it goes our Sweetest Confession Contest.
