Saraswatichandra to go off air?

It is still a question mark whether much hyped show by the great director SLB is going off air or not? Star Plus' Saraswatichandra has always been in news since it started this year. This high profile drama of small screen was launched with big boom-bang but has failed to pass the litmus test of TRPs .

Yes, the show despite of having beautiful and talented star cast is not doing well. This is cause of concern for both the channel and producers. Everyone thought that this grand saga of eternal love between Kumud and Saras will be an epic, it will hook the viewers like anything. But sadly nothing happened. Even the story line has become so predictable that it is not garnering any attention from the audiences.

We hear that this show will be pulled off soon because it is not doing any good especially at the TRP front which is very important for any channel to keep it's position intact and especially when the show is on number one entertainment channel.

The last TRP which was recorded for this show was a mere 1.6. Let me tell you, there is another reason as well which is a major flaw for this romantic daily. It is (as we reported earlier also) Jennifer Winget's tantrums and constant denials to do romantic scenes with her co star Gautam Rode. Karan Singh Grover, apparently is not happy with her intimate scenes with Gautam hence Jennifer's refusal. Now, how will a love story be made more interesting if the lead couple is not intimate enough to ignite fiery chemistry? Who will want to watch romance without feelings??

Our sources tell us that lots of twists and new entries are possible to keep the story interesting till it's last breadth. As per the Gujarati novel by Govardhanram Madhavaram Tripathi on which the TV show is based, a new man is supposed to enter Kumud's life. However, with Jennifer's tantrums and various issues, the makers are now introducing a new female character into Saraswatichandra's life. It is rumoured that the role will be played by Vahbbiz Dorabjee (Vivian D'Sena's wife). We hope Vivian has no qualms about his fairly new wife getting close to another actor on screen.

Also, our lead actress Jennifer has auditioned for Farah Khan's much awaited movie Happy New Year with SRK. So, may be Jennifer is looking for a huge jump in her career. It might be possible that she no longer wants to continue with the show. Hmmm… so lot's of drama is happening off screen too.

We tried reaching the producers and all we got was 'no comments.' Seems, there is still lot of confusion at the decision to pull off the show. We will keep you informed about the new developments. I dont understand why a show has to have romance and intimate scenes for it to garner attention. Saraswatichandra does not enjoy the best time slot and hence the low TRPs, I am sure it would have done a lot better if it was given a better slot. Moreover, at this time slot you cannot have many 'romantic' scenes because we do have children watching the show.

I think the beauty of Saras and Kumud is in their simplicity and I like this show. The show has been around for just months, they shouldnt be judging it too early. I think the show should be allowed to stick around a little more.

Too much romance is not good.I like this show.
SP sees only TRP.!.4 is quiet good compare to other channel show.Even if 0...the show will not go off air.Sp should give some more time to the show.

SC is just getting interesting. It is one of the better shows on Indian TV, so NO it should NOT go off air. The show has an excellent cast and high production values. I enjoy watching it.
It feels like watching HDDCS or Devdas, or Parineeta on TV. It has that sort of "Epic feel" to it! SP should give this show more time.
In comparison to some PATHETIC shows on SP, this show is gold. Like the "Lamp and Wick" show (which I cannot beleive has the highest TRP, coz it is just useless) and shows like SNS which is utter crap!
So in my opinion TRP is a flawed system, coz it only proves how "Mindless" some viewers are that they love to watch useless shows and not shows like Saraswatichandra which are actually good!!
