Chapter#4

It had been a whole week since Khushi had met Aryaan. Khushi had gone to the book store twice after that and had met him again. He had even walked her back home and was warmly welcomed by the family. Khushi liked being around him and her mother was more than happy to have company at home.

Mrs. Gupta was pretty happy as she saw how Khushi was changing. She was smiling, helping her mother, was being the same with the Siddharth and was partly herself now.

As a few more days passed, things were pretty normal. Even when Siddharth teased Khushi about Arnav, she wouldn't react at it but just laughed and teased him back. Lavanya and Payal would call often and she was the same with them. But when Khushi's mother had asked Khushi to visit India for a few days, Khushi had totally denied because if she went back she'd meet him and if she'd meet him... her feelings will come back.

Khushi was determined to forget Arnav but it wasn't that easy. No matter how hard she tried some things would always remind her of him. But meeting Aryaan had totally made her thoughts turn towards Arnav less.

When she had gone to get more books, she had seen him again. They had talked for a while but then seeing Khushi a bit hesitant towards him, Aryaan had backed away. He didn't know what was bothering her but he had let her have space.

By the third meeting at the same place Khushi was just a percent comfortable with him. And that's when they had walked back to her house talking and laughing about silly stuff. Maybe he had reminded her of Arnav but he was just different in a whole new way. He looked at things like she did but Arnav had his own ideologies. As Arnav was hard and a little arrogant, Aryaan was totally the opposite.

What if they kind of looked alike? Khushi had thought. It's not like she would date him but she wanted to know him better so she had given him a chance and also herself another chance of life.

"Ugh...Lavanya we talked last night and now you're destroying my peaceful sleep. There is a time difference." -Khushi mumbled into the mobile as she buried her face further into the soft white pillow.

"Its 9 in the morning, for God's sake!" -Lavanya yelled in the phone.

"It's 9 in the morning for you not for me. Its midnight." -Khushi said as she sat up and looked at the ceiling.

"Whatever! This is important. Do you remember the rishta I was talking about?" -Lavanya excitedly said.

"Yeah"

"Well, the guy he is SUPER hot! And I said yes! But he has to go back to America in like a month and a half so the wedding and all has to be quick." -Lavanya squealed into the phone while Khushi just smiled brightly.

"Are you seriously going to get married?" -Khushi said as she couldn't believe.

"YES!" -Lavanya screamed in excitement.

"Lav's I'm so happy for you. You have no idea." -Khushi smiled into the phone.

"Well, I can have the idea of your happiness if you could come attend the wedding." -Lavanya said cautiously.

Khushi stopped smiling and turned silent.

"Khushi?" -Lavanya said.

"Lavanya, we've already talked over my visit to India. Please I can't..." -Khushi said but Lavanya cut her off.

"Khushi it's been almost a week since we've started talking. I want to see you in person, talk to you and tell you all that has happened, all that has changed in the past two years. I mean my wedding! I'm 20 for crying out loud and I'm getting married. I want you and Payal right by my side." -Lavanya sadly said.

"Lavanya I just..."

"Khushi no, you told me like two days ago that you've finally moved on. So why are you being like this. If you had moved on you wouldn't have cared about any Arnav Singh Raizada and you would've been there for your best-friend's wedding. Khushi..." -Lavanya sighed and continued. "I will go to America soon and no one knows when we meet again. I mean I'll be married and ugh... please just come? For me? For Payal? For your best friends? -Lavanya finished as she waited for her answer.

"Lavanya I'll call you tomorrow and let you know of my answer. Okay?" -Khushi said.

"Fine. But I'll be waiting." -Lavanya huffed and disconnected the call.

Khushi had been in deep thought the whole night and the in the morning. She didn't know what to do. She had known Lavanya and Payal all her life and now that one of them was getting married how can she not be there? She wanted to see them as much as they wanted to see her but that one person stopped her from going back. Lavanya's parents and Arnav's parents were really close family friends and she knew he would definitely be there.

It was like she was haunted by him. She felt like being rejected. She felt like he would be rude to her if she went back. She didn't want to come in front of him. Ever.

She would've asked her mother but her answer was pretty obvious. She had wanted her to go back since the last few weeks.

As Khushi stepped downstairs she saw Aryaan sitting on the couch and chatting away with Siddharth and Mrs. Gupta.

"Khushi! I was waiting for you. Want to have some coffee? I have to tell you something." -Aryaan stood up as he saw Khushi descending down the stairs.

"Hey, yeah I..." -Khushi said but was cut off as Aryaan had already pulled her out of the house.

"Khushi, I'm off to India for like a month." - Aryaan said as they sat down at one of the tables of the famous coffee shop.

"India? But why?" -Khushi asked, bewildered.

"Because you see, I have to attend a wedding of our family friends. So my family wants me there." -Aryaan said shrugging his shoulders.

Family Friends? Same looks. Khushi thought and gulped.

"Well, I had to attend my best-friend's wedding too." -Khushi whispered as she stared at the table.

"Really? Then maybe we can go together?" -Aryaan smiled brightly.

"I don't know... it's just..." -Khushi sighed and stopped.

"Khushi why are you so hesitant in going back?" -Aryaan's brow's twisted together.

"I think I will go with you. And I can take you to the wedding too." -Khushi said as she sat straight up in the chair, determined.

If I go with Aryaan and even if I see him, I can ignore him and keep myself busy with Aryaan. He won't come to me. Plus he'd be busy with his...girlfriend. Maybe. Khushi thought.

Yes, she was going to attend her best-friends wedding.
